Lol Weez, I still have plenty of enthusiasm of my own and the back, though admittedly not in its first flush, is still reasonably capable ;)

The romans had special pots for those edible dormice (Glis glis) Lani. They used to fatten them up to squidgy, the dormice would go in the pots to hibernate - so then, there was a ready store of fresh meat for the middle of the winter with no deep freeze. They are about half the size of a grey squirrel and have decidedly large and powerful teeth.
