Have a question about trading?

Just wanted to make sure that it IS okay to trade seeds for nonseeds. I don't have a lot of seeds to trade yet but I do have a lot of vintage jewelry and just wondered if that was acceptable to trade?

i dont know if its "ok". But id think you would want to keep it or sell it on ebay! I would send you seeds for SASE and im sure others would too, thats what garden is all about-sharing! :)

I know of people trading seeds or plants for markers or signs, so I would think it would be ok if thats what you WANTED to do.

I've sold a lot of it on ebay and donated it to Arc, goodwill etc, and gave it away. I got a lot of it for crafts and then had too much. I don't wear a lot of jewelry so now I thought hmmmmm, I could trade it! I have done SASE's and have always sent something (a pin, usually) back to the senders. I have enough seeds for my garden for the next year but not a lot to trade (mostly the really common stuff, that everybody has tons of already! So I thought, I could say send me some seeds and I'll send you a small packet of jewelry! I just wanted to make sure that it was okay here on DG. That "other place that shall not be named" (I'm a member of the Mickey Mouse club) frowned on it.

DG is not nearly as restrictive as the "place that shall not be named". One member makes jewlery and trades it for seeds. People trade craft items. As long as both traders are willing to trade, I don't think anyone else minds.

I dont wear much but im starting to collect it!
My DH just got 5 jewlery boxes at an auction all really old and lots of clasp earrings-my 6yr old(boy)took some of it and wears it and makes his 4 brothers laugh and tease him!
I got an old christmas tree pin-its out of some kind of stones-really pretty-I know nothing about jewlery. Do you? I have lots of questions sbout some of my pieces!

Are there any kinds of seeds and/or plants that you are looking for? The ground is not frozen here yet and I have both seeds and some plants that you might want in trade for some jewelry. I have in seeds: penstemon"Husker Red", annual single red poppy with large blue/black cross, white allium, liatris Kobold, yellow Asiatic lily (those last 3 will take more that 2 years to develop the bulbs to bloom, seeds from a green hybrid of lisianthus,thalictrum and some others.

early on here at dave's i didn't havve any plants or seeds to exchange and i exchanged craft items i did. with one woman,i painted a wooden tractor trailor for her grandson's birthday gift. it was a liquid tanker type of trailer and i did a fumigator of bugs and put bugs all over the trailer as advertisement. he'll appreciate that truck when he is older. :)
