White Pearl

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

White Pearl is becoming one of my best mother plants.
The White Pearl x Big cross included several colored doubles.
This year, Rubirosa was the pollinator.
This picture is made in the winterquarter. It is not the best but the flower is a triple. Common are doubles.
I would be happy, if Jeanne, Liz and others, which have grown the seeds, would post pictures of White Pearls progeny.

So beautiful!!

So then perhaps these children will also be great double producers? I see they are all yellow in color. Is there anyway to get a pink one from the kids?

I would think you could get a darker yellow if you crossed it with L'Amour. Do you think?

Kell, Angelique and Felicite are peach to orange colour.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

All are so beautiful.

White Pearl has suaveolens in her genetic background. For that reason, I would avoid L'Amour. Rubirosa and her sisters are free of suaveolens genes and both of their parents are Pinks.

Thank you Jeanne and Brugie for posting the pictures.
I thought it would be interesting for you to see and compare the progeny out of one cross and what planned hybridizing has to offer.
Mme Blins R - family is the best proof for it and several of you have used successfully plants out of this family for hybridizing.

Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Thank you a very interesting thread!

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Wow I love Danielle!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Bob, I agree. Danielle is a beautiful single. They are all pretty, but there is just something about her that attracts me to her.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Wow! All are beautiful! What a great Mamma WP is!

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Sorry, had a family day here.
This is Peach Chiffon, one of Monika's White Pearl x Big. Somewhere I have better pictures, it dropped it's inner skirts.
I love it.

Paintedlady, all seeds out of this cross were send to friends in oversea.

Ellabell, GA(Zone 8a)

I got you Monika. Does anybody know how many plants where grown out of the cross and how many has bloomed. It would be interesting to know how many where doubles or colored.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Love the doubles.... but Danielle is still my favorite :o) I really love that one!!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

I've got to take something for this brug fever I have. I want one of everything I see. They just keep getting better and better. lol

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Thank you to all, who answered to this thread.
My idea was, that we post pictures of motherplants and everyone, who has progeny of her, would post a picture of it.
Mme Blins R-family was suppsed to be to start with, as Rothkirch is the mother. But I forgot it while preparing the White Pearl picture which made much problems.

Marshfield, MO(Zone 6a)

Monika, did you get good seeds from the White Pearl x Rubirosa cross? That looks very promising to me.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Mary, the pods are not ripe yet. The pollinations were made in July/August. The cool overwintering of the plants slows down the ripening process of the pods.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Wow, can hardly wait to see what you get from that cross Monika. Should be a great one.

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Monika, I have a friend rooting a piece of Carrisa for me, what if I used Susanne pollen on her?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'm not Monika, but it sounds like a good one to me. Are you going to be selling Susanne this year? She is a beaut.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Susanne??Have I missed one?Where can I see a picture of Susanne?

Murrells Inlet, SC(Zone 8a)

Root, click on Tracey's name and view threads that she has started and one of the first ones you'll come to is titled last one'meet Susanne. Very nice pic of it there.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Thanks Cat!I even posted on the thread!LOL!Must be that oldtimers again!
That is one big Brug!!!

Murrells Inlet, SC(Zone 8a)

My Susanne has buds on it so hopefully i'll get to see it bloom before too much longer.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

You are lucky!!!That is a great Brug!

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

I don't know yet what we are going to do, that is up to Susie, I will if she says it is OK. I know she wants to register it. Shirley we will make that cross, the parentage on Susanne and Rubirosa are very close. So I am wondering if that is one we should make, maybe when Monika see this she will know. It would be a good starting point anyway, and give us something to work with.
