What Grows Best for You

What non-weed plant grows best in your yard/garden/farm? For me, I think it must be narcissus and bearded irises. I've lived at this house for six years and have given away and composted hundreds of narcissus bulbs and iris rhizomes. And this is just a 13,000 sq.ft. suburban lot, about a third of which is taken up by house, driveway, sidewalks, porch, and patio.

Next time just throw them my direction!!!haha

I probably have the best luck with delphiniums, or maybe thats what I like the best!!!! Not sure. We moved here last year and I have been pleasantly surprised at how well my roses have done since they are in full sun most of the time now. I purchased 4 new miniatures over summer because they did so well, so we will see how they make it through winter.

If I had a servant to go to the post office for me, I'd trade all my extras in exchange for postage. However, going to the post office is a real pain and I rarely trade plants.

Hosta grows best for me. I started with a small clump 30 years ago. It bordered every flowerbed at my old house. I kept dividing it and all my neighbors had lots from me. I gave it to people at work, who also divided it and gave it to their friends. One friend even took some to West Virginia and Tennessee to share. I brought some here when we moved 5 years ago. It is bordered my flowerbeds, and next spring I plan to divide some more and put it in new beds. Hosta, definately.

A post office servant!!! What a great idea!!
I really hope you knew I was kidding!

Honeygirl your post reminded me how many times I have taken starts off my hibiscus for family and friends.
I hadn't thought about it since we moved and I had been unable to get any this year.

Marsh Mallow and Asters grow like crazy for me here. Butterfly bushes, too. And of course, Goldenrod and OxEye Daisies....

Daylilies, and swamp iris. No doubt.

I want a post office servant, too. I thought that was what teenagers were for, but mine never has gotten her license. =(
