Conversion Table, Please??
I would also love to have this capability at my fingertips. With so many members from Canada and abroad, I'm always having to stop and look things up using a new window. Thanks Dave. Hope it can be done without a lot of work on your end if you decide to do this for us.
In the same vein, is there a way to show the USDA Zones on the PDB listings with F temps beside them. I know my plants, but don't know other Zones by heart. If I knew i.e. that Zone 5 got to ?F - ?F without having to convert the Celcius that's shown, it would be great.
Dave may have had a great epiphany since the last time we discussed adding Fahrenheit to the PDB and can figure out a good way to do it.
The reason why the zones are shown with Celsius temperatures is because most Americans (who use Fahrenheit) KNOW their zones - even though they don't know Celsius. Most of the rest of the world is quite familiar with Celsius, but not necessarily with our USDA zones. Since we had space limitation issues, we tried to go with what was most familiar to both groups.
Within Garden terms is a link from the Celsius and Fahrenheit definitions to this conversion tool: http://www.crh.noaa.gov/pub/metcon.shtml
Terry and Dave, here's one I added to the menu on our site. it could be added to the right menu here if dave wanted. (which he might not:)

I don't speak brugs (yet!) but I wanted to compliment you on such a nice looking website, tiG. Very nice!
oh thanks! in the midst of major changes:) but since we talk temps all the time, it was just so great to have close.
Below find a link where you can download a cool little conversion utility.

I had to write the formula on my monitor, literally. (Used a magic marker.) Then if I need to I can quickly figger it up, I keep a calculator on my desk.
F-32/1.8=C
However, on one of the weather sites I watch they have it fixed so if it shows a temp in F, by putting your mouse/cursor on it a Celcius equivalent appears. It's so nice!
What site is that Shoe?

Here it is.
This may bring up the page I save for our farm, don't know for sure. If so, go to their home page and type in your zip. It gives you your local weather and several radar and satelites to view the weather from.
At the bottom of the screen where it shows the nine hr forecast (or two day) put your cursor over the temp and it changes to Celsius.
edited to say, "yep", it brought up my page.
Here is their homepage. http://www.my-cast.com/index.jsp
