We all do taking the Vitaman-C and Zinc to keep from not to get sick too often durning the winter season so also we always taking A-Z too.
Keep you all warm who ever live up north. Y'all take care and have a good day! =)
Anyone taking the Vitamans during winter?
I take Zinc occasionally and Vit. C everyday. I also take Vit. E daily. Right now I'm also taking a probiotic (contains acidolphus, etc.) to replace the bacteria in my digestive system lost to antibiotics.
If I feel run down and susceptible to a cold, I take zinc daily, and Echinacea for a few days.
I take a good quality vitamin formula every day year around and feel much better, have less colds, and rarely get sick from anything. When I forget to take them or run out of them I really feel the difference. Vitamin E, C, and others are added as needed, especially when I have been exposed to colds, or been working hard physically as they are antioxidents and help with achey muscles. With all of our processed food, and food that is grown on depleted land where only N,P, and K are added, I think we all would feel better if we took vitamins every day.
I take a one a day type A to Zinc tablet. Don't know if it helps but the DR. advised it so I blindly oblige.
I take a multi-vitaman for geriatrics. I hate the taste of zinc.
What we are trying now is turning our thermostat down to 65º during the day and 60º during the night. Our theory is that the body functions better in cooler temperatures as well as burning off more fat. With daily physical exercise, flu shots, and good diet, we think we are well prepared to endure the winter months without sickness. A warm blanket feels good when I sit down with Mitski, our Chihuahua princess.

I take a multivitamin + lots of E, C, B-12, Chondrotin/Glucosmine, MSM, Calcium, Probiotic, and probably some I've forgotten year morning and evening around. I'm seldom bothered by flu, colds, etc and if I am it is usually more mild than those around me. Which is strange since I'm on Prednisone all the time too. I can tell the difference if I miss a day of the suppliments. But there are some things, like fibromyalgia and osteroarthritis which one can do little if anything about.
I take a multi vitamin and an extra calcium. Since I've started using fitday, www.fitday.com , to track my calorie/carb intake, I've realized that I'm deficient in magnesium also, so that may be another one I will start taking in addition to the others.
We found a wonderful thing at Walgreen's. It's in the place where you get stuff for travel sickness. It is called "Airborn" and it is like a tablet that fizzes in water. It's got natural herbs and was invented by a teacher who got tired of getting sick every time her students brought sicknesses to classrooms at school.
If you have been exposed to something, as soon as you can, pop one of these in a glass of cold water, let it dissolve (it is like AlkaSeltzer) and drink it down. DH and I keep healthy much better if we use it. It was just on sale buy 5 get one free.
Check it out!
