super glue

Fort Dodge, IA(Zone 4b)

does anyone know how to get something apart after glueing with super glue? I had a favorite mug that got broken, went to glue it together and forgot to put one certain piece in before another and now I can't get that particular piece in....is there anything I can soak this mug in maybe to get it to come apart so I may fit this piece in? I tried dipping it in nail polish remover with acetone, but didn't work...didn't leave it in very long either...any ideas or experiences would be appreciated.

Not sure where you buy it but I have heard of super glue remover. Not sure if it is just used for accidents that happen when one glues their fingers together or if it can be used for other objects.
Sorry I can't be of more help, but you could be on the look out for it.

Just a thought, could you make the piece smaller by breaking it in order to get it to fit?

you could try nail polish remover (the kind with acetone).

Duro makes a super glue remover. They say it will remove the stuff from skin and clothing. Might be worth a try.

Thanks for the suggestions! I've had this coffe mug since 1986! Sentimental value...even if it never holds liquid again, I can plant something in it! :-)
