I finally got the bugs worked out of the photo album I've been working on and begun uploading to my gallery just now. This http://www.gardenwife.com/gallery/grand/ will take you to the Grand Isle, LA pictures. We went camping at Grand Isle State Park for a couple of nights, our camp just over the levy from the Gulf of Mexico.
There won't be navigational links to get you back to my main page, gardenwife.com, but you can at least see this first batch of pictures.
Be sure to scroll down a little below the pictures if you can't see below them; there is an explanation of each picture.
Sorry it's taken me so long to get these up for you; I've had a cold/flu bug the last few days and just don't feel like doing much of anything requiring long-term thought.
I'll be putting more up in the coming days!

Louisiana Pictures - Grand Isle
I gotta say, this is a photographic journey that puts National Geographic photographers to shame!
Girl - you got the shutterbug down - FLAT OUT!
Not opening for me.
These are gorgeous! I'm proud of your ability.........but sorry it isn't hereditary (as you well know)!
Yes heh! It's openining for me. Thank you for allowing us to join you and Lisa on your excursion! D.
WOW, You are a Pro. Thanks GW
The pictures are great.
Kim, these pictures are great. You sure do have an "eye" for a pretty and facinating photo. Can't wait to see more, keep them a cummin!!!
Donna
Thanks, everyone! Root, give it some time; often my updating my website causes some to be unable to view it right away. Your ISP has to cache a fresh copy of the site, that's all. Let me know if it won't work for you in the next day or so.
What a wonderful website! I'd like to create a website one day as well - I have hundreds of digital photos taken locally that I could put it. But not as exciting as yours!
Wonderful pictures and I'll bet there's lots more! LOL We'll wait patiently!
The Monarch butterfly is on Duranta erecta aka Golden Dewdrops http://plantsdatabase.com/go/1320/
Great pictures! I could just about feel the sand between my toes, smell the salty air and taste those shrimp. Ummmm, love those shrimp! Thanks for the trip.
Nice pics!
Nice lookin' shrimp, too!! Biggun's! (Did Lisa cook them with the heads still on? Or did she tell you that part?)
The air did smell wonderful, yes! When we saw a large area of tiny white clamshells washed ashore, there came an object lesson for Lisa and Sally: I told them our steps on them sounded a lot like crunchy snow on a sub-zero winter day!
Creating the gallery was the easy part - I use the free Web Album Generator, from http://www.ornj.net/ . You just open a directory, choose the photos you want in the album, and it automatically copies them to a new directory, creating the thumbnails and resized images
One thing I like is the albums are created in XHTML 1.0, which *should* make them viewable in just about any browser. I can't say the same for my blog! I use MoveableType for it, and I notice it doesn't display correctly in Netscape.
The one thing I wish it had was a means for me to automatically insert my navigational links in the album as it's created. I love how it does whole batches of photos at a time, though!
didn't open for me either
Great pictures, Kim, as always :) They finally opened for me today when I tried. When you first posted, they were being a bit fickle... The snail/seed pod is very cool!
Wasn't that neat? It was just there, just like that. I love it when things make you take a second glance!
If you look at the album and see some pictures that look really funky, it's not your computer. I have to re-upload some photos which became corrupted in the move to a new server. Dang it! Sorry about that.
What wonderful pictures! Looks like you had nicer weather than we did...we said we'd love to go back and stay a few days. Maybe even call Lisa and meet up!
I LOVE the one sandpiper with reflection shot.
Gorgeous!
Thanks, Joan! Sure wish I was digging my toes into that sand right now, I tell ya. Wish I could get my webpages working, too. Even my re-uploaded images are corrupted so I am going to need to recreate the albums, looks like. :S
Just fab!!!Great pics, even of the crazy cajun van!
