Help with delete subcategory in trade list

I have now been trying for a week to make this work the way the help stuff says it should. I have tried everything I can think of and read and reread the help stuff.
When I click on manage categories and then click on manage subcategories, it does not allow me to do anything it does not take me to another page as described in help items. I have tried from the top of the subcategory list which is how the help menu shows it and I have tried from the bottom and randomly.
I must be missing something please help!!!!!

You are not allowed to delete a subcategory as long as there are items listed in there or other subcategories are in there. Delete or move all items inside first then You'll be allowed to delete it.

Sample 1
Can't delete Subcategory "Orchids" since another subcategory named "test" is inside.

Sample 2
I can delete the Sub-Subcategory "Test" since no other Subcategories or items are inside.

I really appreciate your help, but the problem is that I cannot get to the screen that you show in your second sample. I have tried everyway I can think of and nothing I do allows me access to the delete items under the subcategory headings. I am working from the trade lists though and it appears you are working from the journal. I am stuck on step 3 of my journal and it will not allow me to go back to the first page of it.
I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that I must be an idiot!

It's not just you, I can't "drill down" to delete subcatagories, either. Tho it will let me add them ... hmmmmmmmm

Well, I'm not guaranteeing that, I may be completely nuts, too. LOL!

I only have that problem in the trade list, not in my journal. Maybe it's a bug?

I got a note from Terry, and we are not crazy!!!! She says it is a bug she had all ready looked at mine, and would have Dave look at it.
I told her I had posted and that you were also having a problem, so I am sure he will look at yours at the same time.

Okay, thank you for your patience! This should now be fixed.

I was confused for a while because I, like PanamonCreel, thought you were referring to your journal. When I realize you referred to your TRADELIST then it became clear. :)

Dave, at least now I know that I was not the only one who thought it was the Journal in the beginning. Lost a few hairs (not many left) until I finally looked at the title of this post. See what happens when you just take a quick look LOL.
