Poppysue,it got worse when the snow came last week, but I dragged the rest in before it dropped to -5c.It never snows this early, and I was caught out.I am hoping my Cannas will not be too damaged by the sudden frost. They usually stay in the ground until mid-November,but I have started digging them now that it has warmed up a bit...just a bit.

So I didn't know of Star Magic (:
Kinda spooky, huh?
American names are different from germans. Many of them cannot be translated. Nothing speaks against it NOT to use Star Magic
Well then that is too eerie Vi! But so cool!
I am so sorry Gwist about your brugs. I bet your being so upset got to your son more than a yelling would.
Poppysue guess what I got in the mail today.... waiting for a bloom to open, will soak it good tomorrow...
Speaking of strange slit flowers...yellow, as you can see. Sorry it's not the best pix, just took it for future refrence as I'm still trying to figure out what it is. Thought it was Dr S, but obviously not. It was a slow starter, first two flushes real sparce, but this one had loads, sorry I didn't think of snapping a pix before it was nearly finished. Anybody care to guess what it might be?
Jamaica Yellow call it Jamaican everytime.

Better get pollinating Tracey! I hope the pods take this late in the season. It will be fun to see what the babies turn out like.
Tweet, there has been discussion about Jamaica Yellow putting out shredded blooms before. I'll do a search and see if I can find the thread.
I have a cutting of a brug hybridized by Chris Rogers. It is called Christine. This is her photo of the brug. It has 60% split blooms. I am looking forward to seeing it bloom next year. I like the odd blooms.
