Why so slow?

It took me 3 minutes just to get to DG and 1 minute to get from one forum to the next....why so slow?

Kit, I was trying to access DG after midnight a few days ago also, and it was that slow for me too. I would think it would be quicker, as most everyone is in bed. I finally gave up and went to bed.

BTW, I even have cable.

Ditto here too.....have DSL and couldn't get on DG around midnight. Also have a regular dial-up for backup access and got on fine that way.I think it's a routing thing going on. We are really spoiled, remember a few years back when this was a regular thing night and day?

I have Road Runner which is really fast so I don't understand it, I use to fly through DG.
I even tried to get through by doing a google search but it was so slow I just gave up.

It could be your computer is coming close to having too many things in it. Another DGer suggested I download ad-aware and google when I was getting so many popups. Well, I found out I had so much junk in my computer and deleted 93 things that I didn't even put in my computer! My computer is working so much faster now and I have dial up. And I was getting a lot of popups while on DG. Dave told me that he doesn't have pop ups on his site, so I got a little concerned. I have 41 blocked by Google right now. :) and I don't see those annoying things anymore.

I have a program that stops that and I also keep my computer clean, I don't have the problem anywhere else.

Kit, do you have ad-aware? I have a program that stops spam also and I have regular maintenance done almost daily on my computer. That's why I was so shocked that I had so many things in my computer that I didn't know about. It seems if you reply to someone's email or go on a site, they can just pop into your computer. Mine runs so much smoother now.

BTW, Ad-aware was a free download. I'll see if I can find the thread and send to you.

I had Ad-Ware but didn't like it too much but I do have a pop up stopper plus a virus program and firewall. I also check my own computer and delete some of the cookies that I no longer use. I also have a program on my puter that will get rid of double files and files that I no longer use, so that is not the problem.
