Jody how is the clean-up going?

I've been meaning to call you..I hope things are starting to take shape.

Hello ya'll! I'm here, just terribly busy. Thanks for asking :)

Gosh, there is so much going on I don't know where to start. The clean up/rebuilding is going sloooowwww. We've gotten the floors up to the joists in the dining room and kitchen, have sterlized them and have started reinsulating and laying the new plywood this week. Hopefully we will be able to start on the bathroom and living room floors next week. We've pulled up the hardwood floors in them, but not the sub floors yet. Don't want the kitties capering under the house, LOL. It just goes slow with only evenings after work and days off from work to work on it. In about another month... the way we are going... I'll be able to put new cabinets back in the kitchen and have some sort of "semblance" of life. We just want to get all the floors and walls done first since it's starting to get cold out now, though we have yet to buy a new furnace. After the floors we'll put new drywall on the walls.

The good news is... after continuous fighting with the insurance co. I finally got a car and have wheels again!!! YEAH!!! :) Yesterday evening we bought a new mower and mowed the front lawn for the first time since before the flood, LOL. It was looking like a field. I'll try to get to the back soon.

Lisa I've been meaning to call you too... life just keeps getting in the way! I started another job about 2 weeks ago so I haven't had much time between working and working on the house and or yard. I may still make it to the GARU but won't be able to go visit you after as I had planned. I'll have to be back home Sun to go to work on Mon. I managed to get Thursday and Friday off and that was the best I could do. If mom can come down we will go to GA for the weekend, if not, well, I don't really want to drive it by myself so I'll just keep helping Ed plugging away at the house. I'm really bummed about it too, especially since I didn't get to make it down last fall either. Hope you and Kim have a wonderful visit! I'll be thinking of you! Give Sally a big hug for me! I LOVED the pics of her from the KYRU! Hope to talk to ya soon! Love ya!!!

Jody, that's the first post from you since the storm that says you may still make the GA RU. I hope so! Despite it being a long drive, maybe seeing some of your DG friends will give you a break from all the reconstruction.

Don't forget to let me (us) know what plants went missing with the storm, when you get the house together and have had a week to sleep!

I like that for Jody a week to sleep. Glad here also that things are coming along for you; however, sounds like a lot, with the house, yard, car, new job. Wishing you well,

Wow, on the "Life Changes Scale", you're about up there in the top 1%, I'd say! It's good to hear from you, Jody - hope the rest continues smoothly for you and you have a *great* time at the GARU relaxing with friends. Sometimes just getting away somewhere else so you don't *see* all that needs to be done is just what the doctor ordered.
