Yesterday was Homecoming at the high school. It's amazing how grown up the kids look. Julie just turned 16 this past week, her dress was her birthday present.
Homecoming
Such a pretty daughter, momcat, her dress is such a beautiful blue too.
Oh, how pretty she looks! Better chaperone her, Mom! Some young man might just run off with her! You might just want to "ride shotgun" in the car! LOL! She surely is model material isn't she?
Boy she was pretty at the ru and pretty in the picture also.
I bet she made some boy a happy camper going to the homecoming with him. She sure could be a model.
Nice dress great color on her, she is cute.
You know Debby, mothers of young girls DO NOT like to see stuff like this! Gives me the shivers and sets my nerves on edge! LOL She looks wonderful! I hope she didn't have too good of a time. :)
What a beautiful daughter you have, they grow up so quickly :(
Thank you for all the complements. I have been lucky so far because none of the boys have drivers licenses yet, so a mom has to drive. Some of them are taking drivers ed this year, though. Her and her best friend, that she has known since grade school double dated, and her friends mom drove them to the restaurant for dinner first, then on to the dance, and home afterwards. Next dance will be my turn to stay up late and be chauffeur!!
She sure is a beauty and I love her dress. Momcat its only the beginning . lol
Yes, the fun is just beginning. As the old saying that we used to put in autograph books goes, "First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes Julie pushing a baby carriage." It is lots of fun from the time our darlings are born and when the grandkids come along, the fun really is just beginning.
ELENA! I shudder at the thought! Momcat probably hit the floor too! LOL
What a beautiful young lady! I am sooooooo glad our daughters are raised - whew! :-)
momcat, you a have a beautiful daughter and her dress sure looks good on her.
Sorry, Badseed. That is how it goes, ...whether we like it or not....
Now I really will leave you with teary eyes. Just sing the words to "Sunrise, Sunset".
SUNRISE, SUNSET
“Fiddler on the Roof”
Is this the little girl I carried?
Is this the little boy at play?
I don't remember growing older,
When did they?
When did she get to be a beauty?
When did he grow to be so tall?
Wasn't it yesterday when they were small?
Chorus
Sunrise, sunset, sunrise, sunset,
Swiftly flow the days;
Seedlings turn over night to sunflow'rs,
Blossoming even as we gaze.
Sunrise, sunset, sunrise, sunset,
Swiftly fly the years,
One season following another,
Laden with happiness and tears.
Now is the little boy a bridegroom,
Now is the little girl a bride.
Under the canopy I see them,
Side by side.
Place the gold ring around her finger,
Share the sweet wine and break the glass;
Soon the full circle will have come to pass.
Chorus
They don't stay little long so enjoy every minute you have with them. Anyone crying yet??????????
Debbie...Juliet is a beauty.....she was very quiet at the RU...but I'll bet she is talkative to her family.
Elena...I LOVE that song.
Jo
I didn't get a chance to talk to Julie personally but she seemed awfully sweet and "smiley".
Jo, isn't that a song that will make you think.... and tear up a bit? I love it too.
Awwww, Julie looks beautiful! Wow, dances are such distant memories.
Thank you all so much for your kind words. Elena, I read that sitting at my computer at work, with tears running down my face. Everyone was sure something awful had happened. It's hard to explain to a group of colleagues (all men) that my baby's growing up. They don't seem to see things the same way. It is a lovely song, though.
Momcat, Just wait until she leaves for college! That was the worst for me with my son. Now I hardly see him, he is 3 hours away and always working. :( Your daughter is a beauty, hold tight to the reins as long as you can. Happy Day, Kathy
momcat, you are like me and I would have been crying too. (Tears of gladness and joy and of memories that just go flooding by in our mind's eye) Put a little music to those words and it is all the more reason to cry. Just don't worry about those guys. Their wives are bound to do things like that also. Now, if it is a football game that they are losing, that is a really necessary matter for great emotion. LOL!
I would advise every mother to get Josh Harris's books. One is Boy Meets Girl and another is I Kissed Dating Goodbye. I recommend the principles he gives very highly.
Your daughter is beautiful, Momcat. I remember when our daughters were that age. Now we have grandchildren older than that and another generation is bound to be stated soon.
Hello:
Your daughter is lovely I'm sure you're a proud Mom, as you should be..
Didn't see any bits of fur on her gorgeous dress!
Did you receive the mail from Tufts?
Going to send you a picture of my girl.
Sandy
Hi Sandy, Yes, thanks I did get the mail. I look forward to seeing your girl!! This dress stayed in the plastic bag until it was time to get dressed, otherwise it would have had hair on it!!
Deb
