Carla, You have been in my thoughts all week. I hope everything goes well for you during this time. Good luck today.

KY Round up videos
Carla, did you get my check for the video tape? How are you feeling? Think of you often. Take care, Kathy @ Misty Meadows Farm
Yes, Kathy, I did.
Some of you should be receiving your copies of the video soon. I still have to dub about 10 more copies. It's time consuming and I'm doing it on the TV that the girls ususally watch, so I have to do it in spurts. :)
Carla, you just send me whenever you get a chance. No hurry. Glad to hear you got the check. Still wondering how you are feeling though? And trying to do these tapes too...take care of yourself. Happy Day, Kathy :)
Yay...some are on the way!? Many thanks for doing this, Carla!
I bet by the time you record/copy them all you're never gonna wanna watch it ever again! That surely must be time-consuming! (Also like watching re-runs over and over and over!)
Hope you're feeling better!
There have been more than 30 copies ordered now. At least 20 of them have already been mailed. I'm still getting checks in the mail, too, so who knows how many videos will eventually be sent out. :)
Goodness! What a project you've taken on!
Hope this hasn't become a burden.
Think there should be a "cut-off" date so it doesn't get overwhelming? 30 copies!...that's a lot of recording.
Carla....I thank you and Hubby for all your hard work...keep us posted on the results of your MRI. Love & Hugs....Jo
Oh, it's not a burden at all. I just have a few other things going on which is delaying all of dubbing a bit. Kaley's 4th birthday party is tomorrow and I'm Bethany's room mother and she has a Christmas party at school next week, too. Plus, my parents and Brents parents are both coming in town next week. Bethany's chorus is singing in a couple of days and she has a piano recital at the end of the week. Kaley also has a family party on her actual birthday, the 11th, and then another party at preschool on the 12th. That's not counting stuff just for us grown-ups, too. :) I'm not complaining, either. It's all good stuff. I love being busy, too.
Jo, the MRI came back saying my brain wasn't abnormal, which I was quite disappointed about. I take pride in being abnormal and that silly test took away my excuse for being "eccentric". I'm being referred to another doctor who specializes in Opthalmic neurology. Perhaps I should go color my hair "blonde". I hear they can get away with a lot more than us brunettes. :)
Carla...I'm glad you are OK in that department....I got blonde highlights in my hair after the RU...instead of the gray stuff....and it does seem like I can get away with more!! LOL Jo
Carla don't you change a thing. We love you just the way you are.
Carla I got mine today it's great. You and Brent really out did yourselves. I love it! Made me miss everybody so much. Thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into making the video. It was sure worth it! ((Carla))
I'm so glad you like it. I hope the music was ok. It was hard to know what to pick. :)
Thank you for your kind words. I will pass them along to my DH, too.
Carla I love everything about it. Well except one thing. It wasn't long enough. :)
I can't wait to see ours. Thanks for everything, Carla & Hubby!
Well, Peggy, I am actually glad that you said that. My husband couldn't imagine why anyone would want to sit for more than 10 minutes watching this "stuff", but then, he doesn't understand us "outdoorsy" types at all. I wanted it to be closer to 15 minutes, but he said folks would get bored if it was too long.
Next year.... :)
I can't wait to get mine!!!!!! Windsurffer got one from an anonymous friend and has been busy telling me all about it! (Maybe I should go "borrow" hers? LOL) She also agreed: way too short! But she said how great it was. Especially the sound effects.
I got mine in today's mail and I must admit I am really impressed with the fantastic job Carla and Brent did on the video. You've all heard the saying "short and sweet", well, this video is that and so much more! The candid shots of all those present at the September KYRU are priceless.
The memories captured on this video will last a lifetime!
My deepest and sincerest thanks to Smilin32 and her wonderful DH for producing, editing, and presenting this truly special video tape!
TC...
Oh I can't wait to get mine!!! I'm so excited!
Oh, guys, I'm sorry we didn't make it longer. We really didn't think anyone would want to watch a whole lot more than that. :) I would have made it about another 5 minutes longer, but I'm not very experienced with all this video stuff. I have learned one thing, though. Editing video is very time consuming. The rule of thumb is 1 hour for every minute of finished video, so this tape would take about 10 hours to produce, not including dubbing, packaging, driving to the P.O., etc. It certainly makes you appreciate why wedding videos cost so much. :)
Just to give you an idea of how this works, the video is done in layers. For example, the first image is made up of at least 4-5 layers. The music is one layer, the DG logo another layer, the state outline another layer and so on. They are created in one program and "dropped" into Adobe Premier. It was neat to watch it all come together.
I'll know next year what to do differently. Shoot more video (more closeups, too) and make it longer. :)
I received my copy today. It is very very nice. I appreciate all of the work that went into it. It is a great reminder of the round-up. It seems like we are really back at Prizer Point again. I think it's the chirping birds along with the music that really sets the stage. Thanks Carla and Brent. How are you feeling? Anything new to report? I've been think about you and praying for a good resolution to your symptoms. Lou
Ours arrived today, too -- I'm waiting until Howie gets home from work so we can watch it together. It's like Christmas!
Wow, Carla, I had no idea how much time went into producing something like this. Thank you so much -- can't wait to revisit the KYRU through your eyes. :)
I got it today and waited for Bob to come home and we watched it together. Great job. We appreciate all the work that was put in and agree it could be longer. Thanks so much, Carla & Brent.
We got ours today and both watched it. It is absolutely wonderful. I want to thank you, Carla and Brent, for all of that hard work. You are the greatest! I could have watched it for a whole lot longer without getting bored but appreciate the fact that would have just meant many more hours of hard work for you guys. You did a fabulous job and there is just no way to thank you enough for providing the video for us all.
Carla, I posted this in a different thread, but saw this one & thought it should go here, too!
Carla, my tape came today & it was so much fun to watch & listen :) DH even came to watch the video & I got to show him who everyone was that I talk about! Great job to you both and thank you so much!!!!
Lou, Thanks for asking about my health. I am 99% certain that I have Meniere's disease. No known cause. No cure, but there are treatment options. I have a Dr appt on Friday to discuss this further. Thanks, also, to Vic who was able to provide me with a lot of information about this syndrome.
I am glad that you all are liking the video. I've been on pins and needles hoping you all would enjoy watching it.

*snif* Maybe mine will come today......Jo
Ahhhhhh! Jo, surely yours will be there soon. Don't cry please!!!!
We got ours last evening but didn't get to watch til this morning. Talk about "sniffles"!! The tape is a wonderful work of art...thank you both so much!
Meniere's...that's no fun. We'll sure keep you in our thoughts
Carla,
....... I watched the video last night and love it.
Even though I only recognize my DG folks through postings and photos, I feel as if I know y'all. We had to back out of KYRU at the last minute so it is a wonderful experience watching the tape.
...... Ahhh yes, *sniffles* here too :'(

There are four people to whom I have not sent tapes: Lupinelover, MaryK, Horseshoe and Georgiaredclay. I'm hoping to get them in tomorrow's mail. It's such a zoo this time of year without the med problems adding to it. Sorry for the delay.
Ohhhh...okay, that explains why I haven't gotten mine! (Just came back from the PO, too.)
I was beginning to think it takes longer for me to get my mail because the employees know I get such interesting packages! I figgered they (there's only two of 'em) probably enjoy "inspecting" them for me, you know...as a special service to me! I'm sure they must've enjoyed Jim's Calendar and all the wonderful pics on it! (They heard all about the Roundup!)
I'm sure the post cards, when they read them, let them know I'm not hurting for friends! And the misc pkgs that arrive holding contents that range from plants and seeds to hillbilly windchimes and "fish tale" wall hangings...well, that just convinces them that I'm still the weirdo they know and love so much!
I'll be patiently waiting for my video. (I learned long ago to hurry up and be patient.)
You take good care of yourself, Carla. Slow down!
We've not had a chance to watch yet -- our power went out around 9:45pm last night and didn't come back on until 6:00am. We didn't get a chance to watch it today before Howie left for work. Tonight! I can't wait to see it! Maybe I'll bring it to mom's with me and get a sneak preview. ;)
Wah!!!!! I still don't have mine :-( Shoe, I think it's the NC postal people - at it again...or should I say not at it LOL
Shoe, you are collecting Fish Tales? :)
YIPEE!! I got mine and Pup and I watched it together....of course she barked all the way through it...thinking there were birds...LOL I loved it...and I am sure Tessa did too....gave her a good chance to bark in the house.
thanks Carla and Brent...wonderful job...and I am ready to do it again!! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL! Jo
Sheesh! Vic, we got to lay down the Law here! (of course now, this time they're off the hook in my case. I can't blame them if the tape ain't in the mail yet...er wait, can I?)
Kathy/Mistymeadows...I think I tend to create fish tales! They are so tasty!

Oh, Shoe, I'm sorry. I feel awful. I thought about waiting to send any of them until I had all of them done, but I just had so many tapes and packages lying around. Will you forgive me?
Thanks Carla, we are sure ready for it. Sorry about the illness. Hope things clear up soon.
Oh my...don't be disturbed, Carla. Just messing around here.
I can easily wait! As someone who record things (stories, songs, etc) I really know what it takes, and the time involved. I can really empathize with ya'll!
Never fear! Besides, it just gives me one more thing to look forward to in Life! I love it!
