oh, ho ho ho ho i just loooooooooooooooove christmas and i adore ornaments. i've been collecting ornaments forever. i also have made a yearly ornament for about 20 years now. about 15 years ago i started making ornaments for family and friends. i now have to make 35 to 40 ornaments so i can give them to everyone on my list. i have a great idea for this year. my ideas have to be cute, interesting and fast. making 40 of the same ornament can get boring very quickly and also very time consuming. usually i make one and then i do production line. of course it depends on the ornament too. last year with 9/11 i did a red/white and blue theme. in glittery sparkles of course. i found the little chalk board ornaments at michaels, i had houses, snowmen, and chalkboards. i painted in the windows, doors, scarves, etc and the chalkboards became u.s.a. flags. they were great. other years i've painted plaster ornaments (a very ambitious year that was), kitchen wisks, i've decoupaged ornaments with flowers and gold paint, dipped pinecones in paint and gold glitter with ribbons, bows and bells. i've made angels with wreaths that had a hole to put a little white light through to light the wreath they held in there hands. oh so so many i can't recall them all, but every year it is so much fun to put these up. then i too have collected ornaments from our travels, my rosta santa from jamaica is a great favorite of mine.
so perhaps i'll have to make an extra one for my trader and well franklin will have to help me with another idea for his trader. :)
thanks you, merry christmas, feliz navidad, joyeux noel and.......
debi and franklin

OK....

If you're participating in the regular exchange, email me with ADULT ORNAMENT EXCHANGE in the subject line. If you want to participate in the kids exchange, email your childs name and ALSO YOUR Dave's name. Put in that Subject line CHILD ORNAMENT EXCHANGE

We will Draw names on November 2, and you'll have til Novemeber 30 to get them to your tradee.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE... don't join unless you intend on participating... It puts me in a bad spot, and it makes your trader feel bad. IF you encounter an unexpected emergency, please let me know...

Home made are fine, just send something that YOU would like to receive yourself!

How about giving our color scheme or theme we'll be having for tree decorating. Just thought it might help in making or choosing an ornament for the next person.

Pittsburgh, PA(Zone 6a)

Excellent. By the way, I have a cat named Skittles if anyone is interested in trading with him! :)

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Awwwwww Sledder...Skittles is such a cute name!!!!

Melissa, did you receive my email? I sent it about a week ago.

Pittsburgh, PA(Zone 6a)

Anna, I can't take full credit for the name. AngelSong had a kitty in PA's Forest that she just fell in love with and she named him Skittles. He stayed in the Forest and would visit us when we were there. So when I got my kitty it just felt right to call him that.

So, anyone want to have a kitty ornament trade? "T" :)

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

franklin and bosco are in this trade and there doggies, so far melissa hasn't said no and there are children who would like to trade with us. if not we can do our own trade, what say you melissa?

Okay, count me in, too, please :)

Lakeview, MI(Zone 5a)

OH! I want to do it but I am new and haven"t been proven yet.See you next year.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

ZenZinnia - I think you'll be fine. I don't have any trades or co-ops under my belt, so by that criteria, I couldn't participate, either. Not everyone participates in those activities. I think she meant participants can't be in bad standing. Melissa, could you explain the good-standing thing a little further, please?

Helena, AL(Zone 7b)

Gardenwife, I was wondering the same thing myself about ZenZinnia! I am glad you asked!

Southwestern, OH(Zone 6b)

GW is exactly correct, You're more than welcome to participate ZenZenia.

If you've said you wanted to participate, but haven't sent me your address yet, please do so ASAP. I'll be a confused puppy tomorrow if I have to request addresses from a bunch of people, PLEASE make sure I have it.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Thanks, Melissa! You're a gem. :)

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

Melissa, do you need my address still or do you already have it? Thx :)
