Another question?

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

Is there a way that a thread could be marked as already read? Like with all the RU and Photo Forums, can't remember which ones I've read since they move so fast!

Hope I'm making sense :)
Thanks, Dave!

Violabird, they kind of are - if you look at a particular forum, you'll notice that some threads have Yes! beside them, while others have No.

That indicates whether there's been a new post since the last time your read or posted to that thread.

In the same way, when you go to the DG homepage, forums will have Yes! or No next to them, meaning there has (or hasn't) been a new post in any thread within that forum since the last time you accessed that forum.

If you don't want to read a thread you've already seen, whether or not anybody else posts something to it, that isn't possible at this time. And I have no earthly idea if it is feasible. I'd guess Dave would have to set it up so you'd be required to choose if you never wanted to see that thread again. (I can't think of TOO many threads that I've read and felt that strongly about, lolol!)

Is there a way to Unwatch several threads simultaneously rather than having to do each one individually? This would be on the list of threads I am watching.

On another thread a while back Dave said there was no need to unwatch a thread (unless it is still active and annoying you when it shows up). It doesn't create any problem for DG and that way if someone responds a year later you will still know about it. I was greatly relieved to hear that because I had several hundred threads that I was watching at the time and the thought of 'unwatching' most of them was exhausting to say the least. Also Dave at that time was watching something like 1200 or 1500 threads, so I didn't feel so bad! LOL

All those red yesses do get to bug me at times.

Sometimes when I log on, I only get through reading all my watched threads with new posts and don't ever get to the new threads. I guess the answer would be to not watch so many threads. :)

Joan, that's just how it is for me! I hate missing anything, so I watch threads. Then I miss stuff because I watch so many threads!

So, is there an answer to my original question?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Ulrich, the answer is no, there isn't a way to go through and un-watch threads en masse :)

Manhattan Beach, CA(Zone 11)

I suppose I could unckeck them in 'Preferences' and later check them again.

When I find I'm not thrilled to see a "new post" alert on my homepage for a particular thread, it's time to reconsider if I want to keep watching it. When I do read it, I have the option to "unwatch" it, which I sometimes take advantage of :o)
