Collecting them was a great hobby in my childhood. Children fancied it. We used to even buy the labels which were on sale. We pestered our parents for a few paise (==cents) to buy them. It was also used as "money" in some of our little games. Have managed to salvage them from being destroyed by "time" by sticking them in a book to go back to the old days, 3 decades to be precise.
