Non subscriber question

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

As I was working on my journal tonight, I was wondering if you can use the journal and trade list if you aren't a subscriber?

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Yes. The Journal, trade list and trade tracker options are still available to non subcribers. They can also make use of the PDB although some of the search fuctions have been restricted. They are also able to see the first post on a new thread but cannot see any responses or enlarged images in the posts. Some forums such as Parkinglot and I think Daves Garden Forum are also blocked completely. AND I just checked it out as a non subscriber and they see some ads that are not currently shown to subscribers.

By the way, Dave, if you read this, the way you put the ads
is actually very non intrusive!

Thanks Zany. I learned something new.

What ads?

Hey Joan, if you want to know what a non-subscriber can see, log out then come back in. :)

Badseed...how do you log out? As soon as I click on the DG icon, I am automatically logged in. Do you have to kill off your cookies or something?

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8b)

Under the "About you" heading on the right hand side of your screen is the "Log Out" link. Click on that :)

Yeah, what Trish said. LOL

Okay, I understand that the non subscriber can see the journals now, but they are logged in under the name they used to join. When we log out, we aren't logged in at all, under any name. But, if I want to get to my journal or such, I have to log in to work on it. It works for me, beause I'm a subscriber. If I wasn't a subscriber, would the journal still work?

Basically, do non-subscribers have the ability to use the journaling feature, trade list and such? Make one of their own? That's what I was wondering. I know they can read them, but can they actually have one of their own?

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Yes. They can have a journal and have the full use of it as well as the trade tracker lists and such.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Joan, if I understand correctly, a 'member' can see whatever you see when you log out. Only 'subscribers' can see everything. Before Dave's was a subscription site, members could use the trade tracker, trade lists, journals and PDB now.

Non-subscribed members have full access to everything on DG except the forums (as far as I know).

So they have full use of the journal, tradelist, tradetracker, botanary, garden terms, etc.

Thanks, that's what I was wondering.
