Drive your car

Due to health reasons, there are times when weeks+ go by without driving my car. The longest time was for several months when I first was ill; the latest was for a few weeks, recently for similar reasons.
The point is: I had to had my brakes replaced due to rusting from non-use, the first time.
I heard noices last week and took my car in, rust forming again, my "car" guy said that it would be OK for awhile, but by spring the rust would make replacement necessary again. I trust this guy and am passing on his advice. Use your car every couple of days, or have someone else drive it-I know there are others here who have similar bad days as I have. It sure beats having to get brakes replaced, to get someone else to buy the groceries or other errands; and to fix them a cuppa tea/coffee as a thank you.

My son used to be a mechanic and he says another consequence of not running your car is mice get inside. They clog us vents etc. I thought this was pretty funny when he told me but he says it is very common especially this time of year when they are looking for a place to nest in the winter.
