You know the butt ugly squre box cars? Thinking about getting one. As you can tell, I'm okay with the ugly factor, LOL. Need some opinions from any owners. Thanks, Kristi
Does anyone own a Honda Element?
I don't own one, but I was reading some specs the other day and it sounds like a nice little vehicle. It's built on a car platform so it rides better than a large SUV. The cargo space is less than my Ford Focus wagon (bought it to carry plants!), but I think back seat passengers have more room than in my car.
Gas mileage for the Element is listed as 21 city/26 highway with the standard transmission.
Is that the new Honda hybrid?
I own a Toyota Prius which is a hybrid electric motor and gasoline engine, and I am very happy with it. We are getting around 48 MPG so far, and as we drive it more that is supposed to improve.
The care has plenty of room and plenty of goodies, like climate control, cruise, CD player, etc.
The cost was $21,500. The big road machine that I traded in cost twice as much to buy and to operate, so I am saving significant bucks now.

Those are some odd looking vehicles! LOL Been looking at cars a lot lately. There is another one that is weird looking too and I can't think what it is. So you are into ugly huh?? I have been test driving maximum buttage cars-8-9 passenger. LOL Ran through the fords and now I am off to Chevy. I have a conversion van and just don't like it. I don't like being snowed in either. Trying to justify that extra $5000 to not be snowed in maybe 5 times a year. LOL
Oh yea, about you. :) My neighbors have one and it seems to fit them, their two little ones and a lot of baby stuff with ease!
I was looking at the Element for a while. I like the looks. But I like the Toyota Scion XB better. Looks like a gangsta car or a 40s London taxi or something. I like the retro look and this one is definitely that. It's also around $15,000. Unfortunately, it's only available in California this year, then New York State next, then the rest of the country in 2005. But you're close to NY and 2004 is only a few months away. The Honda Element is pretty popular around here for the 20s crowd. All the folks I know that own it love it. My friend Jim who restores old VWs says he thinks it's an awesome ride. Here's the Scion XB.
