Yahoo mail problems??

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I had four messages in my inbox today saying they were not delivered to yahoo recipients. Three names I know for sure, not sure about the fourth. I am wondering if Yahoo is having some problems or if this is a virus thing. I need to look about some more. Anybody know anything about it?

I have Yahoo mail and can attest that there are often annoying problems associated with it. I'm not aware of the particular situation you describe, but around the time of the most recent spate of viruses, Yahoo was worse than usual -- so it's conceivable that there are some bugs in the system.

Thank you Whiterose. I'll still have to look into it. Even though I recognized three of the names, I have not gone back to see if they even have yahoo accounts. Last time I got this strangeness, it was aol returned mail and it was that lousy virus thing.

I've had some bounces from Yahoo addies, too, Chele.

A couple of times this afternoon, Yahoo has taken me to my Trash folder after I've hit Send, instead of returning me to the Inbox. So it wouldn't surprise me at all if the problem is on Yahoo's end.

Well, one person I wrote to was dastowers. She wrote today to let me know she got my five day old mail! Geeze!

I have Yahoo and have not noticed any problems.

Paul, maybe you are lucky. :) My one mail did go through to the person after five days!! I wrote to her again yesterday and it has bounced again. The other three addy's were correct and all are yahoo accounts. Very strange.

My Yahoo mail account was so messed up yesterday that I tried writing to their help desk, and I couldn't even get the report page to go! My password didn't work, my bookmark didn't work -- it was late afternoon by the time things were smooth again (and I'm knocking on wood as I say this!).

My Yahoo account has been fine (crossing fingers). The bulk mail piles up each day (150-200?), which is just what I want as I can delete all at once. Very, very few, junk mailings area getting through. This may not be exactly on the subject here, but compared with my Hotmail account, Yahoo is very welcome indeed!

Edited for a misspell(sp?).

Overall, Yahoo has a good free e-mail program and it's far and away better than Hotmail, but I've experienced quite a few bugs with it, even so.

Edited to say that some of my Yahoo e-mail problems might be caused by browser settings, since a lot of people don't seem have any trouble.

Often the emails are bounced due to the recieving party not having enough space to recieve it. The free accounts are good for me but if I don't clear it out regularly things will start to bounce back. Especially if my DD sends large photo files. I finally set up several accounts to avoid the problem. All family members mail me at a single address. DG and other clubs and friends have another address and anything of a business nature goes to a seperate account. Anywhere else that I must enter an address are given the 4th address which is where 99.9 % of the junk spam accumulates as a result and I let it fill up and delete all without opening anything in it. I have used this system for 2 years now and so far have had NO SPAM in th 3 important accounts :~)

Really great idea, Zany. I am going to try that in the future with the multiple accounts.

I have never tried Yahoo email but maybe I will for the spam email account.
