Richmond, VA hit by another storm last night

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

My daughter lives in Richmond, VA. She says another storm hit them last night. They did have water, but still no electricity. Then the storm hit and they have no water again and even more people have no electricity. Then a tornado hit the town. Not all of the town is in that condition but most seems to be.

I feel so sorry for those people... and I heard the Baltimore area got MORE rain... just what folks like Jody, who got wiped out by flood waters, needed...

Just can't seem to find an end to these storms. Another here last night so no school again today due to more flooding. My usual 30 min, drive to work took 2 hrs. this morn because of traffic pattern changes. MIL and FIL in Silver Spring finally got power back this afternoon and it had been out since Thurs. Hope your DD soon gets a dry spell and some power. So sad for everyone who has suffered through all this and lost so many personal items. Just glad all are pulling through.

Yes, we had another 3" of rain in the Baltimore area. Thankfully, the high winds did NOT accompany the storm last night.

Candee, were you anywhere near the sinkhole that occurred around Frederick today? I hear that they had to close Interstate 70 in Frederick because of this latest diaster! This DEFINITELY would make commuting to work a nightmare!!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Wasn't around the sinkhole, don't think, just so congested coming into town that it took over an hour longer than usual. This morn all was much better and the 45 min. trip from Hagerstown was without delay. Hope the rain soon stops. We have a tree lying on a power line and that has been since Thurs and nobody is able to get to it yet.
They had 5" of rain here in Frederick and that is plenty enough, closing schools again yesterday due to more flooding!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6a)

Yes, the fun never stops! 5.5" on our gauge. The sinkhole caused major traffic problems for most of the employees and the Monocacy River right next to our home finally crested last night and seems to be slowly going down this morning.

Has anyone heard from Tim or Margaret?? I know she was supposed to leave this morning.
