email problems

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

I am having email problems again. It freezes up when I receive a message and try to open and if i send an email it also freezes up. Some times it won't send a message until I sign off, which it won't sign off without coming out of the program, and then send it when I reopen. Also it doesn't always put a copy in my sent folder so I don't know if I need to resend or not. Hope to hae it up and going soon. If you email and I don't respond I'll try to get a message through Dave's email. Jim

Jim, having some of the same problems, but it's not all the time. You might get a yahoo account, it won't happen with that. But it's probably your modem, that's where GW pointed me when I had problems.
I got your email:)

Jim, why don't you back up your Outlook data, uninstall it using add/remove programs, and go to Windows Update and reinstall it? Maybe that will help get it running, err, slicker'n snot again!

There's a 15-day trial of this program, which backs up your OE stuff: http://download.com.com/3000-2242-10217991.html

Here's another: http://www.outlook-express-backup.com/

Well I might do that. I think it is more than an email problem. I started to try and print some of my calendars up and kept getting a message that the program had performed an elegal operation and would be closed. It did it several times while I was printing and finally quit all together. I had to turn the computer off manually and since I started it back it seems to work fine now. I went to outlook and it worked alright there. If I have the problem again I'll try that. Thanks Kim and you also Bonnie.

Try this, Jim: FreeRAM XP Pro at http://www.yourwaresolutions.com/

It reclaims RAM that should have been released when programs/projects have been closed, but hasn't. It runs on Windows 95/98/2000/XP.
