Neat! It looks so desolate....

That's what you need Root. One of them big heads for your Hole-on-the-wall!

Did you ever see Marks? http://davesgarden.com/t/377843/

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I did see Marks,he had it in a thread from when he started his beds,I love it,I can across the place he got it from while I was surfing,I want mine almost life size, and some buried too, should look cool,I have been working out how I am going to do it.

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

WOW! I've always wanted to walk those fields. Rootdoctor--how are you going to build them???

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I am planning on using a wood frame with wire mesh and concrete surface,I will use rock salt to give the aged look, did you get the site to work?

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

These are Olmec heads,I am looking to see what the surface is like,I want to create an aged look.

Thanks for the link root. We actually tried to book a trip there several years ago, but it didn't work out. There is relatively no place to stay on the island and the planes out of Peru are very sporatic, so we opted out of the plan. So very nice to see the pics!

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Why don't one of you fly away to Easter island or South America & bring me back a nice big carved head for my garden? It might be a bit heavy, but I'll pay postage...LOL

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Never know Wanda, after I learn how to make them, you may be able to have one!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

LOL, wish I could, perhaps when we go we'll take a private jet and can bring one back without the postage LOL!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I was just gonna say how cool it would be if maybe Bo could do these in hypertufta. LOL Looks like good old Root will be making them soon. Can I have a light one?? Women like to move things. LOL

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Root - there's a book out called 'Making Concrete Garden Ornaments'. Sounds like you'd put it to good use. It has a lot of good info about creating such pieces.

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

id love to have one in my garden-thats to cool!!

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I;m all over this!it is all I am thinking about!we talked over some fondation and wire forms today,I am really concerned on the surface texture,I can not use salt on anything going under my Oak tree.
Chele start saving postage LOL!

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

If you make me one, will it fit in my trunk? Maybe I can do a road trip! LOL My kids would freak if I had one in the garden.... Come to think of it, I would flip!

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Wanda and I will have to do a road trip together, Root.
I want one too!

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

TLC, I can just see us going down the highway with heads tied to our car roofs....

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Will do if Root can make them!

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I am nuts on these heads,I was talking to my friend,he said you gotta go see this guy on Anioch road, said he had some,so I did, went up there, they are made of wood.
We hit it off, very nice guy,he wants me to plant around them next year,we are going to some swapping.

He is doing great with his EEs and Brugs,It should be fun doing his yard with tropicals this spring.
