Make it easy to find a post.

Was just wondering if there was a way to add to our homepage a place where we can click that will show all the threads we have posted to??
Like it would tell me that I have posted 300 times, or something like that.
Maybe even where we could go to a memebers page and be able to see all the post made by that person. Kinda like "See all the Threads Mollybee has started" But make it "See all the post Mollybee has made"

Would that be a far fetched idea?? Too off the wall??
Just thought I would ask.
Because like when I know I have seen a post somewhere by let say Busybee for example, yet she didn't actually start the thread.....and didn't sign her name to the post searching for it is like finding a needle in a haystack. So if there was a place on her homepage that showed all her postings then that would narrow it down some wouldn't it??

What do ya think?

Even if we could get as far as seeing a list of threads a member's posted to. Seeing the subject of the thread would probably jog the memory enough without having to detail each post. Some threads are primarily between 2 or 3 users, and all those duplicate search hits would make for a lot of clutter in the search results, you know?

No problem, I've enhanced the search engine. Just search for the username in question and all posts by them will show up.

It does slow the search down a bit, but searching through 650,000 posts takes a while no matter what. http://davesgarden.com/search/index.php?search_text=MOLLYBEE

When I tried doing this search with Puttytat I found something confusing:http://davesgarden.com/search/index.php?forum=&search_text=puttytat&limit=0&Search=Search
On item number 1 it says I started the thread when in fact Puttytat started it and I replied. On item number 11 it says Puttytat started the thread and I replied which is actually correct and an identical situation to item number 1. So I don't know why item number one is showing me as starting the thread....?

I just went to the link you have there and it says Puttytat started the thread.. might be fixed now.

Mollybee, it is no longer #1 - the # changes each time Puttytat adds a new post. It is Tall Bearded Iris 'World Premier' and it still shows NoH2O as the thread starter. Every thing else seems ok so maybe it was just a one time deal.

I agree with all of you, it is a really neat feature!

Very nice - especially when you can break down to forum. I do have times where I've responded, not watched the thread and wondered which one it was - never taking the time to go back and search.

I love this new feature too! Makes it soo much easier to find things when I need to.
Thanks again
