Dea, I don't understand 'Anyone who wants to be used as a "go to" phone #' ... elaborate?

Crossville, TN

I would be concerned about my cousins near Baltimore...ginlyn and sgtdot...does this mean they can call you and you will post that they are OK??

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Dea,

I'm not sure you want your phone number on the first-line of a thread. Anyone in the world can get that number. I'd at least post on a subsequent line.

Dea, smilin32 has a good idea. Why not edit your post, deleting the number there, and add another post down here?

Jo, I think that's the idea... sgtdot and ginlyn would call Dea, and she'd post it here.

Is Parking Lot only available to subscribers?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

yep, private. if you need another contact, just say so.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6a)

OK Sorry everyone. I was giving my #'s out so that people could call in and then if anyone else here wanted to email me with their #'s that I could pass messages out. I have edited to delete my phone #'s for now.

Let me know how I should post this and I will do so - I was just trying to help. Thanks all.

Dea, I think they're saying that you can post it now, in a "reply." The very first post can be seen by anyone, but you have to be a member to see all the replies. This is a good thing you're doing. I'm just starting to get emails from folks saying "we may not be available for a while." Hope it peters out before it hits land, though that looks unlikely at this point. Best wishes and be safe,

Frederick, MD(Zone 6a)

Ahhhh, I get it! My cell is 301-514-1588 anytime. My office phone is 888-295-7899 x226. My Admin, Donna can find me anywhere, anytime if need be.

If anyone would like to email me their phone#, I will pass on contact info for folks who need to "touch base" with family members or those in need of emergency assistance and we will all @ DG do what we can!

Thanks Stella and all !!

Dea, I spoke with Carol7 a few minutes ago. She will look here and take your phone numbers and check in with you when she is able. Thanks for doing this!

The NOAA posting this morning at 5AM shows a slightly more westerly landfall and diminishing winds. Maybe it will turn out to be just a lot of rain and strong, rather than killer, winds for most people in the path. Nonetheless, keep us posted on how you fared through the storm.

I always feel preparedness is never wasted, and even though I am not in Isabel's path (so far!), it has reminded me to check my emergency stuff. Winter is coming, and could bring a bad storm, loss of electricity, etc.

Thanks again darius for alerting us all - looks like it's taming down very nicely :)
