this is a riot, gals!.......just yesterday at lunch we, Liz and Sunrize were gadding on about just exactly where to put all of our plants and on and on.......lights, room, ......some more room????? Elaine......another Candadian plant nut has joined our ranks..let's get them on over here!
Joys of Frost Warnings
I've been meaning to ask Lilypon about all the references to the library. Does this mean you are really 'Marion Madam Librarian' in disguise or you just con anyone and everyone you can think of to take your plants for the winter. My niece has a new classroom this year which looks dynamite for a few (or lots) of plants. Do you ever worry about liability in having highly poisonous plants in public places? I don't plant dats or brugs around my restaurant in the summer because of that concern.
My Witches Garden plants are in an unused room that's in a
area that only staff can access. They are eyeing it for
the various Boards to use as a meeting room so this winter
will prob. be the last that I can use it :(. Right now
they know they have enough for blinds.
Thanks for the posting PanamonCreel! I would never have
guessed that a tropical could grow sooooooo big in one year!
Does it produce fruit? What does it's flowers look like?

Apologies to all. The Overwintering Home on the lottery is worth only 2.8 million. A pittance! The whole bunch of prizes must be 3.5. Anyway, I figure we have at least that tied up in plants, so might be worth the gamble.
Killing frost in my yard this morning :(
Zounds, Lilypon; Have you managed to protect everything. I must say that even though I was born in the Peace River, I am always shocked at how early you people are thrown into winter. Wishing your plants remain happy and safe. You too, of course.
Zounds Sunrize? Have you been watching too many cartoons with the grandkids? ;~))
Lilypon, sure hope you got everything in that you plannned to. How are the fish?
Most are in...the rest will be caught this weekend.
Hyacinths etc are finished now...summer temps are coming
back for a week or two or more....time to start cleaning
up, rototill, etc., and watch the leaves fall.
Getting close to 0 celsius at nights here. Tamarillo tree took a beating from the heavy winds here last week but survived LOL. Now everything tropical is inside and tree is moved to the buildings swimming pool area.
I doubt that the tree will flower and have fruits. These trees get over 10 feet high in nature, so I keep it in it's small pot and hope that it'll stay smaller ;).
I guess I'll be cleaning up my balkony this weekend and store the rest of the things for winter.
So Pam how is the Ceropegia doing?
Some of the vines suffered die back from the trip but
I dug up one of the beads and the roots are still developing
...crossing fingers that all goes well :)
Feels good to get it over and have them in...always
afraid that an unforcasted frost will zap them overnight.
Here we are giving a whole new meaning to FOG (Friends of the Garden), we've had zero visibility fog for the last few mornings with 100% humidity. But still no rain.
Good Morning everyone!
No frost in our garden here in Finland yet - can you believe..
Morning Liz!
Your turn will come Evert...enjoy your frost free status
while you can. ;)
