First grade class looking for help

Lutz, FL(Zone 9b)

Joan, Let me find out, she didn't list everything that had come in.
Frogs I think this will go on most of the school year. Miss Verile has the maps up and they are looking at all the cards as they come in...thanks!

Rutland , MA(Zone 5b)

floridan - upstate n.y. is loaded with stuff like that. have the vandabilts, fdr home ande library, samual morse home (you know, the morse code thing) etc. will be glad to send some down to you.

Lutz, FL(Zone 9b)

Herbie, that would be wonderful! Thanks!

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

I'll be on the lookout for post cards for GA.
I'll send in one

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

My DS did a somewhat similar project in his class last year. I'll send something, too :) How did Tombstonejan know how to send one to each student? Did she have a list of names??? I like that idea :)

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

No Morph, I just sent 30 Tombstone pencils and 30 arrow heads (imitations) and 30 Tombstone hat stick pins. I figured that most classes aren't over 30 children and there would probably be a few left just incase. It was fun doing this for the class. Teacher got a little colectable spoon.

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

Thanks, Jan :) That helps!

Honor, MI(Zone 5b)

Sending a postcard from beautiful Northern Michigan!

Lutz, FL(Zone 9b)

Thank you all so much. Sorry I haven't heard anymore from the teacher. I was hoping she'd keep us better informed. I do know she's busy but I'll ask Emmy's dad to start asking her again!
Stacey

Well, who would have thought this would be so difficult. There are no postcards of this area. I called the area Chambers of Commerce and one woman said I could get postcards in Atlantic City. Too bad I don't live in that area. I'll try to get some brochures or something. I feel so bad. I didn't want you to think I'd forgotten - I'm just stumped.

south central, WI(Zone 5a)

My info packet will be in the mail tomorrow. I got a little carried away.

Honor, MI(Zone 5b)

Me, too! I couldn't just send a postcard...so I went to the local "Welcome Center" and got her some information, maps and "tourist" guides along with the postcards! This was really fun, Stacey, thanks for posting it! ~Monica

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

Same problems here, they don't sell Espoo cards anywhere. Only Helsinki.. or Tapiola district ("the Garden City") which is in Southern Espoo, but I don't like that area.

Lutz, FL(Zone 9b)

Thanks all of you! LOL Marcia...is that a good thing?? Doug (Emmy's dad) and I were just talking about this project. The class has put up a US and a world map for this project. The teacher is making binders for each child that will hold all the info that has come in. It will go home with them at the end of the year. She also says that the kids are thrilled with all the info they are getting and that the class has ended up spending way more time doing this than she had planned! LOL Doug says there are envelopes and cards stacked in the class that they have not read. He also says he will be talking to the teacher again tomorrow so maybe there will be more to tell you then. Til then...y'all are the BEST!
Thanks,
Stacey

SW, I did not think of the Welcome Center!! I got a few cards, made notes on the back (writing was not really good that day), ran off some of the stats for WI, included a couple of great articles about the Native American tribes and their efforts to save their particular areas ( wild rice etc) and gave them some ideas of what to look up. We all could probably keep them busy for the rest of the year and I know where our Dept of Tourism is!!!

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

I was just wondering how's the project doing right now?

Lutz, FL(Zone 9b)

Evert, I'll ask my boss...again. I feel bad that this teacher has not been as forthcoming as she told us she would be.
