2003 Contest Questions

Northern California, CA

I've read through the thread about the 2003 Contest
http://davesgarden.com/contest/2003/

I've looked at the categories and have a couple of questions.

What's the contest "definition" of Tropicals?

Are there different areas of judging for example in Roses?

And if I have a, let's see....how about, a Marigold? And this Marigold is really special to me, and I have a bazillion pictures of it that I just adore. Is there a place in the contest for my Marigold? (or my Petunia, or my what-in-the-heck is this plant that I took a picture of)

Or is it that each year you focus on different areas/categories based on what members are interested in?

BTW - I only HAD one Marigold, a 3' tall 'Harlequin'.....always plan ahead and take LOTS of pictures, because in this case the ground squirrels ate it clear to the ground, yanked the metal stake out of the ground, and left not even a crumb.

Cambria, CA(Zone 10a)

I was wondering why no more categories have been listed too. I have lots of pictures I'd love to try with, but they don't seem to fit into any category.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I agree! There needs to be a Sunset category.

Cambria, CA(Zone 10a)

LOL rootdoctor, I wasn't thinking of sunsets (though I suppose the Pacific Ocean might be considered a pond). I was thinking of floral close-ups, actually. There doesn't seem to be a place to put such a thing.

Manhattan Beach, CA(Zone 11)

This may be getting too unwieldy. How about ONE or two categories per month?

Tennille, GA(Zone 8b)

Duh...Pardon my ignorance...What are the details of this contest? what do I have to do to enter?

There is a Misc. catagory.
