Rained all night!!!

Mount Angel, OR(Zone 8a)

Well, our Oregon summer here is finally over,we haven't had substantial rain since the beginning of June and last night it rained all night. It has been very very dry for here. Hopefully this will help the fires on the other side of the Cascades too. We are still harvesting blackberries but not for too much longer, maybe a couple of weeks. This is both a help and a hindrance for that.

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

We even got a little rain over here on the dry side of the state, and it is now in the 40's instead of the 90's. This cold front is a cold one for this time of the year. I hope this rain will plump up your blackberries without making them moldy.

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Hey You Guys, we got a little rain here too. First measurable rain since first of June. A gentle rain for 3 or 4 hours yesterday early morning. Not as much as you got but so very welcome. When i took entries down to the fair Wed. it was 102 degrees. Thurs. when my friend and I judged Adult Arts & Crafts it was 99, Friday when I went back to look at the fair it was 98. It was so hot I didn't stay a long time, never did get to see the animals or the

birds. I did win a lovely placque for best fruit display in Hort building for a plate of 10 blackberries. they have been so luscious and large this year. I water them with soaker hose, and they (only 2 thornless vines) are mulched with the chippings from the poplar trees that I had removed last fall. Donna

Well, Donna, a berry farmer in the making huh? Come on over and I will give you starts from the marions and the evergreen blackberries.

Mary, that is such a juggling act to get enough rain to plump the berries but not mold. We'll be picking tomorrow bright and early. Hope it goes well.

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Seattle Burbs, WA(Zone 8b)

Raining here too. It is a nice break, isn't it? ZZ, I love the smell of the rain, we left our windows open too.

Of course, I'll be whining in January, February, March, April, May.....!!

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Been raining here all day too. This is good. I worked outside all day yesterday getting the area ready to plant grass. It was so dry I didn't know if I would be able to even till it. Now after this nice rain I can work it up and get my lawn planted. I hope it still will have time to germinate and set roots before winter.

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

oh i hope its coming this way-we are in a drought here and the farmers are crying for rain, ive been dragging hoses all over for months-all those new iris and daylilies to water-plus the "gardens"! i need this rain so bad-dont miss me this time!
"i wish oh i wish really hard that it will rain here!"

I hope your enjoying it-not looking forward to that ol cold front though! :(

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

We enjoyed this batch of rain too. Around 2½" here. We needed it badly. Looks like it's on it's way to MI, notmarhta.

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

We hardly got enough to settle the dust and smoke haze. Boise got quite a shower out of it though.

I was so hoping to have some rain to green up the pastures. Starting to look like dust pastures. But the temps being so much cooler is a great relief to me. Maybe now I can feel like gardening and the mosquitoes will leave me alone more. (well, I can DREAM can't I????)

Pine City, MN(Zone 4a)

We got some (3-4 inches) here on Thursday night, we sure needed it!!!!!

Lindale, TX(Zone 8a)

We got 4.2 inches rain here on Thursday and Friday. Sure was welcome!!

south central, WI(Zone 5a)

HI, It started raining last night and we are getting good, steady showers; we have been in a drought. Hope it is headed your way notmartha. The upper Midwest has been hot, humid and dry--just the combination that makes me really crabby.

Santa Clara, CA(Zone 9a)

It rained here a couple of days ago, just to cool everything down and make it smell good. Now its 100 degrees out, and I picked today to process tomatoes :( . Oh well, its suppose to be cooling down here tomorrow and I wish it would rain. I don't mind staying in and watching football if its raining out, but I always seem to have too much to do and I feel guilty if its nice out.
