True story--St. Petersburg Times 09.03.03 Front Page.

First as vendor who does business with MacDill AFB, Tampa Florida (SOCOM) and MacDill Federal Credit Union I can say that since 9/11 getting on that Base is not as easy as it use to be. At the back gate we go though there are as many as three check points, all within 100 yard. Before I get onto this story you might find this interesting; at one of the check points we have to drive on top and over this "device" very slowly. What it does is beyond us, and they are not saying.

Now on to the story. Yesterday a trio with cocaine, money etc. in their car mistakened one of the public MacDill AFB gates for a highway toll booth! They decide not to pay the toll and blew right through it!

Within seconds they were swarmed by uniformed guards, mlitary vehicles, and many, many machine guns! Totally surrounded!

Unbelieveable!

I don't know about you folks..., but this trio gets my vote for the " Most Stupid Of The Year Award."

LOL Close to the top anyway. We live close to interstate 85 and we read all the time about the county sheriff deputies stopping someone for speeding and finding drugs in the car. Why would they speed if they knew they had the drugs. I think maybe they must have taken some of the drugs before starting on the trip.
