That is so cute! So, what direction does the front porch face?

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Home for an Angelsong all fresh and new
Fill it with love, joy and laughter too.
As the plants in this garden grow to full height
Your Guardian Angels will dance with delight.

May Angel wings protect this home
and it's owner when she must travel or roam.
Protect her when she is snuggled in bed,
See that she is healthy and always well fed.

AngelSong, that looks very nice. Congratulations!

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

Thanks , Zany!~:) Very cute...

GW - front porch faces mostly west. Not exactly, as the sun doesn't set right across the street ..... but before it falls behind the houses across the street, it indirectly hits all the front windows. :)

I'm very pleased with all of the construction and work that has been done... :)

Pittsburgh, PA(Zone 6a)

Ain't that nice?? LOL naw....I'm not glowing...honest I'm not...LOL :) I'm extremely anxious to see it finally in person!! Our trip is being planned for next week. Unfortunately it will be a rather quick one to help her get settled.

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

Ooh ! Ooh ! A cyber party ! That's *MUCH* easier on me! I won't have to unpack, or even clean! I can leave all the decorations at the store, and everything! :)

My cats can even come, and those allergic won't have a problem... :) Furball and Hobbs will appreciate that ... :)

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

Well, actually I was thinking about an actual 'plant shower'.We can have the cyber party too...it will be fun.

I have some freshly rooted Pink Wigelea cuttings and my white Iris bed needs thinning. I'll offer them for spring blooms.

They bloom at about the same time...here's a picture.

As to the cyber party....I've got White Chocolate Cheesecake...home made...who wants a piece?

Miss Melody...you have mail!! :)

Heard the word, Cheesecake. Someone after my own heart.

AngelSong; what a beautiful house and sure you will make it into a home in no time. Looks like you're going to have some nice flower beds as well. Can't wait to see pictures of your progress with the planting and blooming, etc. etc.
Wish I could be there to help you move, but will be thinking of you this weekend.

Pittsburgh, PA(Zone 6a)

I'll take a piece of cheesecake please. And a cup of tea. Thank you! I'll bring some of those little teacakes. Listen to me...teacakes? No way....I'm bringing pizza!!!

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

I'd like some Pizza from that place from home, Mom .. You know "the one at the bottom of the hill".. *wink wink* I'd also like some of those cinnamon roles from the "place at the bottom of the hill in town"... :) *wink wink* teacakes? Uh ... No, thanks. Where I come from, we don't make sissy cookies.. we make cOOKies. :) LOL ..

What I'd really like is some fancy coffee ... something with hot chocolate mixed in it ... Oh yeah, and some dark chocolate ... YUM! :)

Angel, I'm bringing some cinnamon rolls but they're better than the ones "at the bottom of the hill". They're CoCo's Cinnamon Rolls!! Yum Yum!!!

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

Oh eyes... drat drat phooey drat! It looks like those pretty flowers are an annual here... since Fall is coming so soon, I'd be sad when you plant didn't come back next year... Thank you, though.. PhOOEY! I like the purple, too ... the database says they're only hardy to zone 8.. DRAT!

Okay, so now I've got a party with cimmamon *giggle* rolls, tea, and cheesecake.

Who's got the silly party games? You know, those goofy ones that nobody wants to play, but pretends to enjoy so the host is pleased ... :)

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8b)

AngelSong-

I'm so happy for you! And your house is great!!

Congratulations, and all that sort of thing *grin*

Now, move over so the pregnant lady can have some cheesecake!

Trish

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh Jen, it is so lovely!! So are you moving in next week? Did you come up with a list of plants you gotta have yet??
Move over prego! I still have room for LOTS of cheesecake! (Watch out girls, she could go at any second!!)

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

Jen,you might try those lovely purple flowers and put them on the southwest corner next to the foundation...it will pretty much add a zone if you mulch. I'm betting that they will come back.

Now,I figured that cheesecake would draw y'all out of the woodwork...what do y'all do...put that in as a search word? Does Dave have it programmed where you get a heads up Trish when the word is mentioned??? Heh,heh,heh...

How about the recipe? Does anyone want to make one? They are actually very easy.I make them for Christmas presents.

White Chocolate Cheesecake

Prep time 35 minutes...cooking time,1 hour

Crust
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour

Filling
4 (8oz)packages cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 eggs
12 oz white chocolate, melted, slightly cooled(the solid does better than the chips)

Heat oven to 325f

Crust
Cream butter, sugar, vanilla in small bowl at med speed until light and fluffy.Gradually add flour, mixing at low speed till blended.Press on bottom of 9" springform pan.Prick with fork. (If you cover the bottom plate of your pan with heavy duty foil, you can remove the finished cake from the bottom and place it on a cardboard circle...freeing up your pan for more cheesecakes)

Bake 25 minutes or until edges are light golden brown.

Filling
Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla at med speed until well blended.
Add eggs, one at a time, mixing at low speed after each addition, just until blended
Blend in melted chocolate.Pour over crust
Bake 55 or 60 minutes until center is almost set.

Run knife or metal spatula around rim of pan to loosen cake.Cool before removing rim of pan.

Refridgerate 4 hours before serving.

Garnish with dark and light chocolate drizzles.

This is the first recipe for your housewarming party AS..hope you get more....Come on gang...let's give her some stuff to try out that nice new kitchen with!

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Pittsburgh, PA(Zone 6a)

Ack! Recipes? Oh my..Let me think. You know, I'm quite sure she's eaten everything I've made. And lived to tell!! **giggle**

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

Eyes - SC ....

Oh yum... real cheesecake .. not like the Jello Instant one I'm taking to work tomorrow.. real, honest-to-goodness cheesecake ... yuM! That will probably be what I make later this month. I've got plans for some friends from Sunday School to visit the house.. dessert party .. :)

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

Well, everybody .... All of the construction is complete, all the stress of choosing things, watching, waiting, praying for dry weather, giggling with surprise everytime I went to the site.... that's all going to soon be replaced. :)

Replaced with sheer goofy-happiness! I'm closing this afternoon! I went over last night, met the builder, and we did a complete walk-through and checked *everything*. Locks, doors, drawers, vents, lights, switches, windows, grass, shrubs, everything! I was amazed at some of the things he saw that I may not have noticed right away. With a short list of about 5 things or so to check today, and a list of things to leave at the house, I was on my way, walking off-site with the garage door openers. :)

I also managed to round up a few helpers for the weekend.. I've got a co-worker helping me pack tonight, a church friend helping move small items Friday, and a team of three (hopefully growing to five) to help move all the rest Saturday. Looking around the apartment, I haven't a *clue* how we're going to get it all moved, but I'm trusting it'll get done.

Please pray that closing is smooth and painless. I've had minor troubles with the receptionist that works for my mortgage broker, and I'm hoping she's got all the paperwork straight. Everybody have a great day, and if I don't get to post much, assume no news is good news. Internet isn't connected at the new house yet, so once the computer is packed, and moved, I won't be able to do much except from work.

:) Have a great Thursday!
-Jennifer
