Uploading to the journal

Jacksonville, IL(Zone 5a)

I was wondering if there was anything I could do to speed up the upload process when using my journal. It takes the better part of a minute for me to upload an entry with a picture with my dial-up connection. I have cleared my cache and my history list in hopes that it would help, but it doesn't seem to go any faster even then. And the time of day doesn't seem to matter much either. I have uploaded in the middle of the night and during peak usage times and the length of the upload is still about the same. Is there some other option I haven't tried to get the entries to load a little quicker? Anybody have any tips? Thanks.

The time it takes to upload these images is completely based on the size of the image and the speed of your connection.

Since you are dialup, large images will take a very long time to upload. There are two choices to speed this process up:

1) Get a faster internet connection (not really an option most of the time)

or

2) Decrease the size of the picture. (Preferable). Usually pictures come out of the camera quite large and, using some image software, you can decrease the size of the picture. Uploading 100K is much quicker than 1,500K!

Hope this helps!

Thanks, Dave. I'll give smaller pictures a try.
