I received an e-mail which said it was from e-bay.com saying I needed to update my account information. It is a fraud attempt!!! Do not fill it out and send it back! If you already have, you must take precautions to protect your identity. It looks very real! I got suspicious from some of the info they asked for. I contacted e-bay and they said it is a very wide-spread fraud attempt and the authorities are trying to shut the fraud site down, but have not been sucessful. Lou

I got the same one. If you get it, forward it the way it is with all of it's content to spoof@ebay.com and they will deal with it

I have gotten it several times. But got the warning from my server and ebay so I just deleted them. Flowox, I need to send them to the address you listed above?

yup, that's what Ebay says on their site about the whole ordeal. Forward the entire thing to that email address so they can try to trace it all

I have also received a couple of fake messages from the culprits that are trying to gleam information out of uninformed people. I had been automatically deleting their very annoying messages. However, now that I know to send those e-mail scams to "spoof@ebay.com", you better believe that I will follow through!

Thanks for making all of us much wiser & savy to their tricks, and to the extent that some under-handed people will go to!

I received an email from Ebay, thanking me for forwarding the email to them and they apologized. They said that they have not been able to pinpoint the people who are doing it but the emails that they get forwarded do help

When you forward to them, be sure to include the full headers and not just the TO, FROM, etc. They need all that other stuff to see the route the e-mail took before it got to you.
