Three DG'ers meet and greet

Crossville, TN

Today Farizona met me in Tombstone and we called on our new member TombstoneJan. She has the most talent you ever saw. painting and gourd art. Her gourds are covered in bee's wax...sculpted to form the Lions, elephants and such around the outside...then she takes the tiny beads and presses them into the wax to make the colors! Absolutley beautiful!!!

Jan, Frances, another friend, and I went to lunch and browsed the stores in Tombstone...had a lovely day. Farizona took the pictures as my camera decided to conk out on me.(l. to rt: Farizona, Roadrunner, TombstoneJan) Jo

That's a gourd!!!! Yikes! You all raise some huge gourds down there. The gourds I raise I can hold in one hand and have room left over. LOL!

Jan, your gourds are awesome. Both in size and the paintings. I love elephants.

Great to see a picture of all three of you. Sounds like you had a great day. I have dreamed about Tombstone AZ, because both DH and I are huge fans of J.A. Jance and her Joanna Brady novels.

Thank you all for the compliments. It's still a work in progress as I only have it partially done. By the time it's done the whole gourd, from top to bottom will be covered. I just have the girraffs, Elephant and the map of Africa on the bottom. The lion and lionness are formed up but not yet beaded.
It was such a great day and we had so much fun. Going through shops, having lunch, and trying to figure out what kind of plant was growing outside the gem shop isn't that right,Farizona? LOL
I look forward to our next great adventure.
