Hey Dave!!!!

We seem to have a problem with some DG correspondence; a member just sent me this error message:

The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----

(reason: 550 5.7.1 Mail from 216.170.230.92 refused by blackhole site relays.osirusoft.com)

They are listed in a spam blacklist website and they need to contact their systems administrator for assistance in fixing the problem. It is a problem with their ISP, not the DG server.

They should tell their ISP the following:

"My IP address is listed in osirusoft's blacklist database, and I cannot send mail to some people! How do I fix it?"

The ISP will help them from there.

dave I got this yesterday while trying to write you at standardout. I just used another addy and it went through. I know what to do now if it happens again.

tiG, your other address is in a blacklist then. :( You'll need to talk to your ISP to fix it.

I meant I used another addy for you. I wound up using the whitinger addy and got through. I'll write my ISP. I wonder if a lot of ISPs are getting blacklisted because of the new worms?

I got that same kind of bounce when trying to send from my gardenwife.com domain to someone at Owens Corning -- someone I've e-mailed regularly with no problem. I think it is the result of tighter security.I've had e-mails to an AOL friend bouncing, too, saying something about the server being recognized as one sending unsolicited bulk e-mail; that ticks me off, because it there's one thing I'm not, it's a spammer!

Wow- the blacklist!

I've been blacklisted countless times because my main email address starts as "guesswho" (Dave, looking over subscription records, will understand the joke, but we'll have to keep it at that.) Supposedly, this is one of the worst spammer conterfeits - but I'll be darned if I change it.

(My brother starts his off as "whodguess", my mother as "guessinggame", and my dad as "educatedguess". My sister, through tender mercies, has married into a different email addy...)

tiG, I think we just now worked this out to a success, right?

The blacklist website was offline and so most mails to the DG server were getting blocked. I stopped using the blacklist so we should be back with no more mail problems.
