Da Day is Approaching

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Well Tasha's wedding is getting close 9/6/03. I am making the programs and also the wedding card from us with one of our poems to each Tasha and Mike. The gardens as posted earlier are a disaster this year and the water pump went out at the cabin and we had to replace and that took 4 trips to the gap. But, hopefully R& R time will be here soon. The riding mower at the cabin hasn't worked in 2 wks. so took another one up tonight and will have a big job this weekend mowing. Tim and Amy are coming for the Labor Day weekend, hope there is not too much labor. Then to OC for the big event next weekend, then figure out how to keep the palms growing and hardy on the isle.
WOW, tonight must watch for Mars, just too much to do!!!

Kid's weddings - so much to do, but so much fun and the memories captured are just grand! You guys just enjoy every moment - even the 'trying' ones. I wish you all the very, very best during this joyous and crazy time!

Chill, dear friend. You have so much going on in your life. I'm praying that all works out perfectly in the end. Man...I got stressed out just reading your post! I wish I lived closer to help you with all this.

Yes, watch Mars! A great diversion!

Hugs,
Joan

Thanks, it's not that bad but I sure appreciate your support. We are really getting geared up for the wedding. Tim and Amy are coming from CT tomorrow for the weekend at the cottage and they will drive home Monday. Then they fly to BWI on Friday morn and we will pick them up and head for Ocean City for the wedding Saturday.
I reported for jury duty this morn, but not selected (go figure) so I spent the entire afternoon printing the rest of the wedding programs. Finally finished that, then printed one more copy of the wedding card we made for them, so aside from a little ironing of that "Mother of the Bride" outfit, think I am set.
Was too cloudy here to see Mars, perhaps next time LOL!

How exciting, Candee! Can't wait to see pictures.

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

LOL GW now wondering if we will have any as the wedding planner just informed Tasha last night that the photographer must leave immediately following the ceremony and won't be around for any after shots or the reception! Nice to let her know 1 week before the big day! Doesn't matter to her, she already got all her money and doesn't intend to refund any with regard to the photographer.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

They should have made a movie of THIS wedding! Too bad she's already got your money - what a crock. 8-S

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Yep, and now I just found out she is performing the ceremony because she neglected to arrange for anyone else to officiate! LOL - guess she will have some nice pocket change after this one and Tasha said she has 3 other weddings on the same day.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Gads. Hers is probably not a face y'all want to look at on the wedding videos, huh? LOL I'm sure everything else will be just beautiful and great, though, Candee!

Dad used to say that a wedding that went off without a hitch was half as likely to last as one that had obstacles to overcome. He figured that if the family could pull together and get the younguns hitched in spite of troubles then they would be able to work together to make it last!

So it looks like these two will be experts at working things out and be starting out as a great team!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

You are so right GW and Zany, should be quite exciting LOL!

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

It will be wonderful Candee, and here and gone before ya know it.........take lots of pics!!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Will do eyes, leaving today to go to BWI and will pick Tim & Amy up there tomorrow and head to the beach! See ya when we get back and will send out more drac seeds!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

can't wait to see pictures and hear the stories. have fun, just remember that, have fun:)

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

NP we always have fun, don't know any better LOL!

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

Hope I'm not too late, here. I took digital camera to best friend's wedding this past Spring. Had the assistant cameraman stalking all my "candid" shots as I knew who was who and what my best friend might like!

I got the best of the pictures developed and put them into a picture frame that held about 50 pix. This was done & delivered long before they ever saw the offical photographer's selection. If you have any good friends, ask them to bring a digital camera and not to be shy!!! You might find you'll get a better selection of the candid shots at the wedding and those are sometimes more precious.

Good luck, Haighr!

Looks like perfect weather for you this weekend :)

Enjoy, relax and have fun!

Great advice, Morph!

Todays the big day. How did the wedding go?

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Tasha never looked more radiant, I am still recovering, think after all was said and done, it caught up with me and my stomach has been upset ever since we got home yesterday. The wedding was fabulous, the weather couldn't have been any better and we ended up with several hundred more guests, who were watching from the boardwalk!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6a)

Hooray! - so sorry about the tummy-ache and hope you're feeling well enough soon to share some details and photos. 100 extra guests from the b-walk - did they bring gifts? LOL You certainly had the perfect weather and I thought about you all day!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Thanks Dea, believe it or not, I took the advice of all of you and got cameras for the tables, had a friend come down with her 35mm and I only took about 5 pics the entire day and none of the wedding itself. Professional photographer stayed for the ceremony and took a few of family after. Had someone there with my camcorder, but got one of those "Dew Detected" warnings and the cam wouldn't work. Oh well, great day anyhow. Thought of taking a basket along the boardwalk after for a little collection, but opted not!
I am feeling better today and sure I will get back in the swing of things tomorrow when back to work!
Thanks everyone for all your great suggestions and support!
