What's the best way to calculate postage?

This question applies to both seeds and plants - trades and SASE.

What is the best way to calculate postage?

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

The Postal Service has an online postage calculator http://www.usps.com/tools/calculatepostage/welcome.htm?from=global&page=0061calculatepostage. You'll need the weight, zip code your sending to and from. Additionally, you can calculate additional fee services like Insurance or delivery confirmation. The website has a US and international calculator so if you trade with DG'ers in other countries it's a snap. Also, the postal service provide Priority Mail boxes free of charge upon request (you can even have them sent to your home from their supplies website). http://shop.usps.com/cgi-bin/vsbv/postal_store_non_ssl/home.jsp?appName=SSOL

You can even print and/or pay for your Priority Mail labels online at their site. An added benefit is, the labels printed there include free delivery confirmation (even on the labels printed without postage). https://sss-web.usps.com/ds/jsps/index.jsp

Edited to add link: http://www.usps.com/send/welcome.htm?from=homedoorwaybar&page=0014send and click the "print labels and postage now" link.
