Why isn't it just better to go to the store and buy some plants there?
What is the benefit of trading plants and seeds?
It's fun, less expensive (generally) and you can get things that your local nursery may not carry. For me, it's a hobby, something that allows me to learn more, meet cool people, share things from my garden and try new things that I wouldn't normally even know about.

plus if you have a ton of seeds that you don't need anymore and would like to try something out........then you could trade with someone that has what you want and vice versa. You usually end up paying a fraction of the cost of being in the store, by buying some stamps for a trade. And people are usually very generous with their seeds as when you say pay $3 for a package where you may only get 5 seeds
