I have always taken pictures of my gardens, but I have never writting anything down, like when something blooms or the name of a plant that doesn't thrive in my yard. What benefits are there to actually keeping track of all of this?
What is the benefit of keeping a Gardening Journal?
One short answer for ya smilin is that it helps one remember from one season to the next which particular plants did well and which ones didn't. You could use this in conjunction with the fotos you take.
This is only one of the benefits of keepin a garden journal. There are many more. ;~)
TC...
I am in the 5th year of my 10 year journal. it is just written notes. I used to get a free calender note book thingy, but the company stopped making them. i did that for probably 20 years and still have them to refer too. I prefer the 10year in on book type. it is so easy to see what happened the past year or whatever. All my photos of which there are hundreds are in albums, with labels on the back or on the page if that is available in the album. Have probably 35 or 40 albums, never counted. They are of trips I have taken, family, and mostly garden. Donna
