Leaves falling

N.C. Mts., NC(Zone 6b)

I don't remember the leaves falling so early. This picture was taken Aug. the 12th. They started falling around the 1st. of the month. BTW this is our beautiful great grand daughter.

She looks like a little doll. So cute! Our leaves are starting to fall here too. The guy on TV said it's the wet weather we're having.

Our cottonwood leaves are beginning to fall here in Southcentral Alaska. What a lovely picture of your great grand daughter. She is so lovely... all that plump youthful beauty... not even grand children here, so it is so nice to view your lovely picture!

Your great grand daughter is just precious.

Isn't she, though! I'm thinking Psilo would love this picture. She does such wonderful watercolors of children... not an easy subject.

Thank you all for your compliments. She was such a joy to have with us. She has gone back home. Oh, I miss her so much.

Liz, lovely little person in that photo!

We don't have many leaves falling yet here in Asheville but I did notice them last week when I went to visit my mother at Blowing Rock Hospital Extended Care Facility. Guess we will have them soon enough...

What an angel child!!! Leaves falling some around here, but I thought it was cause they're burning off the tops of the trees.......

Beautiful child. =)

The leaves are starting to fall a bit, what is strange is the malformed acorns this year. It's as if the meat has fallen out of the shell ... bizarre. Don't know what caused it. So, I'm constantly getting hit on the head by these strange projectiles.

I need a gardening helmet. =(

Edna, she is beautiful. We had our maple tree pruned about a month ago and it is not shedding like it did earlier.

I talked to her today. she is doing great.
violabird, I thought her "bloomers" were too big but DD said that is the way they are supposed to be. They do look like the ole time blommers. LOL

Harford County, MD(Zone 6b)

Liz, she is such a darling. Wouldn't this shot be pretty on a calendar....

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

We call em 'diaper covers' here, cause that is what they were invented for. Such a darling girl!

The only leaves falling here are from the squirrels gnawing branches to build new nests :( I pick up 30 or more every day.

Cheri, your acorns are probably deformed because of odd weather when they were flowering -- improper fertilization. We have one oak (pin oak I think) that thins its acorns from late June until they finish ripening in November. I pick up hundreds every week, before the grass gets cut. I know what you mean about needing a helmet!

Lakemont, GA(Zone 8a)
