Updates to Gardener's Journal

1. I'm finding that as I sow more and more seeds of the same kind of plant, I'm having trouble keeping them apart.

Aside from this, as my journal grows, I'm having trouble remembering where each individual plant has been planted.

So, the answer: I've added a Location field to the main table. This will let you enter in a location name (up to 255 characters long) that will let you know where it is. Click "Edit" on your item to add a Location field to your plants. Visit my journal to see my locations in action.

2. You can also now edit an update on an item (prior to today you could only delete entries).

TODO: Allow members to "close" a particular item. Say, for example, that a plant dies - you want to go ahead and close that item off (sort of like finishing a trade) - it won't show up then in your viewall page.

I have one item already (indian corn) that needs closing, but since the feature isn't in it's taking up valuable real estate in my list.

WOW Dave, my head is hurting for you, all that thinking!! You are doing such a great job :-) Bye, Lisa

Hi Dave,

I hope you find time to actually do some gardening this summer! You spend so much time providing this wonderful site. You must take really good vitamins.

Thank you sooo much,

Sharon

No vitamins here - must be the coffee and supportive wife.

Anyway, another small update: you can now jump to a specific item in your journal if you know the RID (think of the RID as a page number in your journal).

So, say you are planting peas, and your journal assigned the peas RID number 1213 - you go to your journal and type that number in (you'll find the area below the Journal Menu).

If the number is valid, the system takes you straight to those peas.
