Dear Shoe was kind enough to send me some mater plants this year...and I managed to keep 2 out of the 3 living! A few weeks ago they looked like this:

roadrunner, your shoematers look wonderful. How come you used little tomatoes for the sandwich, you could have sliced the large one and made 5 or 6 sandwiches!!! I love BLTs but this time of year I make them using cukes instead of lettuce. Donna

Rutholive....I thought those were the BIG tomatoes....you mean shoe sent me a little tomato plant???? Dawgs!

Louisa and Lisa....I used to cook rice all the time for my DH...not the Minute rice either...the kind that took a while to cook. He said I cooked VERY good rice...Maybe I'll try Mz Lisa's Gumbo....who knows, maybe it just needs that Cajun touch. Bring it on!! (mais....dem Cajun spices can kill de taste of any ole thing....even boudin) LOL Jo

AWWWW Shoe....I couldn't have done it with out you!!! Thanks for the plants and the encouragment. It was a very tart mater....and Farizona...I only have 4 more on that plant...not going to waste them by frying...I'll buy some green ones. Jo
