While Lupy and I was at the fair and of course we had to go see the pig races. It was my first time seeing them race so I couldn't wait to see it. With camera in hand and at the ready I heard the announcer calling out the pigs names, Jane Manspig, Marilyn Monpig and so on. He then ask for four kids that would be the ones cheering their pig on,which were numbered 1-4, to the finish line and the winner would get a blue ribbon and a badge stating their pig won.
Well needless to say the little kids started to scream to be picked and were chosen...the race was off. I never laughed so hard in my life, it was the cutest thing I have ever saw. The race ring wasn't that long and shaped in a oblong cicrle because the poor little pigs wouldn't have made it in a long dash race, a very shot race indeed.
When the pig won the little boy went up to get his ribbon and other prize just a smiling with everyone clapping for him, he did get a little red face.
Well they had another race just like this one but when they started calling out the names of stars for their pigs I had to get silly and call out Where's Dolly Partonpig!!!! The crowd roared with laughter and the announcer said they didn't have one which brought another roar of laughter from the crowd and myslef.
They saved the best for last, the announcer said that they were going to have a potbelly pig race and wanted all those out there with pot bellies to volunteer to cheer the pigs on. Well I leaned back and stuck out my belly and rubbed it while pointing to myself and Lupy was pointing at me as well with tears in her eye's from laughter.
The announcer while still on the mike called and said "Hey lady with the camera you need to go and eat there isn't enough of you to have a belly" Lordy did the crowd roar at that one. I think he enjoyed the joke two so he said he would let me cheer on potbelly pig # 2.
I think there wasn't a dry eye's at the ring. He soon found his other three volunteers which all had potbellies and the race was on.
I started hallowing and rooting for my pig all the while trying to take a picture. As you can guess they weren't that fast so this race lasted a little longer than the others and I am jumping up and down and yelling at pig #2 to move it buddy.
They started to run back the other way and I almost choked on my own camera strap. They finally turn around and was runing the right way but my poor little potbelly pig didn't win but I had the best time.
When I turn around to look at Lupy her face was so red and she was still laughting. Even though my little pig didn't win the race, he didn't even come in second but I thought he deserve mentioning here. Here is a picture of my little loosing potbelly pig #2 in all of his non-glory lol.
