A rough landing!

Lindale, TX(Zone 8a)

Talk about a rude awakening! I was at the farm yesterday, where I have a couple of hammocks between trees. I had just settled down with a good book, when BAM, I didn't know what hit me. The rope had broken and I landed on the back of my head and my back. I blacked out for a few seconds I guess. When I came to my senses, I thought, can I get up and walk. Luckily, I did.
No broken bones or concussion, but I am sore all over today. Always check and replace the ropes on hammocks often. Or replace them with chains as I am doing today.

Oh Bill, I'm so glad to know you are alright. That could have turned real ugly real quick. You take care of yourself and don't go laying in any unsafe places ;)

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Sounds like you had about the same kind of day as SkinnyKenny, except without the horse. You guys are becoming accident prone, aren't you? Do be careful, we need you here.

Bill, I hope your aches and pains go away real soon.

I've been considering a hammock - but will bear your experience in mind and watch the fixings!!
So glad you're OK :)

What's this about SkinnyKenny Aimee? I must go thread humting!

Bill, I refuse to make the old joke about landing on the softest part. I am glad you are OK: ditto about being careful -- we need y'all here! ((( Bill )))

Thanks, flow: Yep, I'm alright, Still a little soreness in my neck, almost like whip-lash. Could have been a lot worse.

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

that it could have been and I'm glad that it wasn't though. Make sure to put some ice on that neck every so often
