almost a homerun and a championship

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

We have been playing baseball since last Saturday and finished up yesterday. Michael played so good and they finished second in the state. They won ten in a row before losing the championship game 6-5. Michael batted .400 with an on base percentage of .600. He pitched in relief and twice came in to pitch with the bases loaded and none out and managed to get the other teams out without any one scoring. The picture above shows him almost hitting a homerun. It was over the right fielders head and off the fence. The games were played in Forsyth, Ga. and not far from the site of the roundup at High Falls. It would have been so nice to go to the world series but a lot of luck played a part in our losing and we feel the second best team in Ga. will be there.

Edited to add that he pitched a total of 4 and 2/3 innings and didn't allow a hit and to say thats MY GRANDSON.

Vi, we didn't go to HIGH FALLS I wanted to go but they had the boys time pretty well planned. We did make it to JULIETTE to the Whistle Stop Cafe for some Fried Green Tomatoes. I thought about you each time we went thru Barnesville but I was riding with someone else.

Santa Clara, CA(Zone 9a)

What a great picture and you must be so proud. You can almost see him in a big league uniform in a few years.
