verdict on web pages needed

Antrim, Northern Ire, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

I've changed the layout of my Pelargonium web pages so I can fit more images per page.

I think it's OK. what do you think?

old format http://www.marksgardenplants.com/pelargoniums3.htm

new format http://www.marksgardenplants.com/pelargoniums4.htm

The new page looks very tight and well organized and your photos are beautiful. The last three images wouldn't load on repeated attempts, and the letters "ba" appear at the bottom of the page but do not seem to be a link -- do they mean "back"? Very nice!

although I uploaded all the images and repeatedly uploaded the missing images they dont appear for some reason. ba was for back which I left in by mistake. full size images will be added during the week.

I like the new better... The colors are a wonderful eyeful. And they look more consistently sized.

They both load in the same amount of time... fairly quickly...56K modem 10 secs.
I can honestly say... They sure don't look alike! LOL

Mark, your new format is very good. The colors are beautiful . I only have a very few. I have one question where are the names of the varieties.. Donna

Fremont, CA(Zone 9a)

The names show up as you mouse over each picture. I like that approach, so the page is less cluttered. Nice shots. It would be nice to link to a full size photo from each "thumbnail"

patients George! I have to work 8+ hours a day and see people at night re their bats. the old format is linked

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

I like the second one too and I wouldn't know why the last 3 pictures don't load either. The code seems to be ok

very nice work and beautiful pictures!!!

all missing images will be uploaded again in the morning

all missing images are now on the pages

Silver Lake, OH(Zone 5b)

mark you must send me one of each!

Western, PA(Zone 6a)

Yes, nice improvement! Lot of pics for one page, and they loaded in reasonable time. The full-sized pic will finish the page. A reference to buy and to identify Pelargoniums. Well done!

thanks everyone.

I really like the new format a lot. Did you scan that notebook in for a background, or is it from somewhere else? It's very clean and very effective. Glad you kept it there. :)

Mount Prospect, IL(Zone 5a)

The old one is nice, but the new one is much better with more pictures on a page. With these beautiful pictures of yours, you should publish a book of your photos. You do exquisite work!

Bolton, Greater Manc, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

The new form is excellent Mark and it all loaded amazingly quickly. What size did you reduce your thumbnails to? The colours are amazing. Your patience is a credit to you! :))

btw did you buy a new camera?

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

They're something like 3.2kb I think, at 147x160.

Bolton, Greater Manc, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

quite possibly GW. I often reduce mine to 2KB. They would have to be very small in order to load up so quickly.

Antrim, Northern Ire, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

They are about 3Kb and 100 pixels wide/tall. The old style had images 160 pixels wide/tall.

DJM a book is in the pipeline as soon as I get the time. I have the costs and have approached some nurseries offering them full page ads to say what they want - at a price. Those asked have said yes. Someone is working on sample page - at least he should be. If/when I get round to it I will offer Amazon the book.

GW the note book is a GIF but looks very real. No-one noticed I changed the note book style to a bigger ring binder
