Well, here is my second creation. Did this one while at my mom's house. It took me about 7 hours to sculpt him. He's about 7" tall :)
New Fairy.......it's a boy
Very nice. The face and all the fine detail are wonderful. What are you using? FIMO?
Super Scupley is what I used to make that one
very nice flowox!
Wow! I love him/her!!! Are you selling somewhere?
I will start selling some after I make a couple more. My work is getting better and the first couple I created I want to keep for myself. Keep checking though ;)
He is terrific! Makes you wonder why you don't see more boy fairies out there!
He's even cuter than you made him sound. I couldn't picture him from your description and had a much less boyish look in mind. This looks like a little jungle boy. Love the feathers.
I must say it again, you are so very talented.
Wow, He's so cute. You are doing a wonderful job. Way to go girl!
thanks everyone :o)
Cool...he's such a cutie patutie!
thanks Ginger. I am mighty proud of him!! :)
You are getting better at this! He's pretty cool, Flo!
thanks GW :)
Flo: He is very good. You are very talented. That is something I could only dream of doing.
thank you Debby........I'm still learning though and a couple of years ago I wouldn't have been able to get something like this done. I hope to get better with time and eventually good enough to sell them :)
the real hair looks great!! You did a good job, Flo!
thanks Carena...........I'm pretty proud of that one ;)
you are quite talented flowox!.......
There are quite many who are way better than me but thank you for the very nice compliment :)
YW....(Ü)
Flo that is just so cute, is there anything you can't do? If so you, must not have tried it. LOL
that's about it yardbird.........lol
if there's something than I just haven't tried it yet but believe me, there's lots of stuff I haven't tried "yet" ;)
Sure is a cutie!
You're really good Flow--can't wait to see the next one!
I think I will send a check now, to reserve my fairy. You know, like those limited edition things, where you pay something before they make the item, and it's limited to a certain number of days of production? I predict these will be really popular.
In case you don't know about Susan's work, look into the process for this guy: She took a regular mold, formed his basic shape, then hand crafted the face to resemble a boy, since the mold has girl features. She has to mold it, then cut the limbs off and reattach them to the position she wants the fairy to take. Therefore, each one is a one-of-a-kind original creation.
I envy this girl so much talent and energy.
Aimee, you're too generous in your praise.........lol
I just "love" you :)
yes, I use a mold for the basic figure, then cut off the limbs, clean up the seams. For the boy (he has real glass eyes), I restructured the entire face (added brow features, a chin, his nose) and then attached his arms and added shoulders after I cut all the fingers apart and sculptured them one by one. Then cut the toes and sculpt them, add the knee, attach them back on and smooth it all out again. Very long process and you have to be in an area that has absolute no hair or dust laying around as this clay picks up literally "everything"
Then of course I had to construct the tree with some branches found outside and some moss stuff found in a craft store :)
Zanymuse......I apoligize for the following, but you made me do it...I have one of them there fellers across the road from me.....lol...OK ,slap me now! ;-( scooterbug
Flo; I'd love to have one of them! Why not auction one off on ebay, I'd outbid everbody!
TC, go to your room! You are spoiling my party!
sorry Aimee, I'd go to bed as late as it is but ever time I try layin down I git DG withdrawal!
Oh, I do love nightowls like myself.
LOL! That is a whole different kinda boy fairy you are talkin bout scooterbug ! That type is right common in some areas but I thinks this type is a bit more likely to find life in my garden to their liking ;~)
hey T, I may make another one like it and sell on Ebay. Will give it a shot anyway :)
This one is mine, I'm going to make a girl one to match so I can stand them beside each other
