I sprayed roundup on a grass and weed area, it has turned brown, now what preparation do I need to do to mulch the space and plant some perennials? LOL

I would say you have to spread some compost, your own or commercial. I am pretty much organic so I hardly ever use commercial man made fertilizer. But I think you need something more than compost. I don't know where you live and if your soil is alkalin or acid type. If it were my gaden area I would use Planters 2, composted steer manure, worm castings, then work into the soil. How big an area are you talking about, can you turn the soil over with a shovel. If I can help you, let me know. Donna
