Special Characters removed in thread messages

Celaya, Mexico(Zone 10a)

Quick questions, which special Characters are removed from messages when submitted.
I know that pointed brackets and anything beween them will not be posted. I believe the pointed brackets are reserved for special functions e.g. edit date. Are there any other "no show" characters?

Greater than and less than characters, when used together to form an HTML tag, will be removed. (exception is bold, italics, and underline).

That's about it. :) Other characters come through just fine. Do you have a specific character that you are unable to use in this forum?

Nope just wanted to know, so that I can avoid them if they ever come up :)

LOL, that's why we write stuff out in longhand 'round here:

C: forward slash my documents forward slash...

It gets a little confusing sometimes, aye? Dave, could we put forward slashes in posts if they were contained in file paths, maybe set off by quotes? Sure would make it easier to explain things in the computer forum! ;)

Oh, I forgot that Windows uses forward slashes. Let's try again.

Use two backslashes to make one backslash appear in the forums.
